Anyone ever played this game? Stronghold is a combination of both a city-building genre and an RTS genre. The resulting mix is an addictive game.

Actually, yes. ^___^ I'm not exactly.... wonderful at this game, but i find it quite fun. I love archers to death, and building castles and fighting off bears and wolves....

What about Stronghold Crusader? That's a bit fast-paced but it's damn addicting. 
But yeah, archers. I like building about 200 of them and then just placing them on walls on defend. But I use them more on offense in Crusader because en masse they just take out every enemy unit in the castle. ;D

I used to play Stronghold Crusader that was a really addictive game. It was quite a long time ago now so I don't remember much of it, but the whole wall building system was great.
