Chapter one

The music was loud and the world was shut out from the sound that overwhelmed his ears. He never went anywhere without his music, else he could not live the day to it's potential. Without music he was nothing. To him, it was all the soul needed to become a serene force that would simply rest.

Daren was coming home from school, and he was listening to his Zune while on the way home. He always did this so it would chase his mind from all the thinking he had to do in that day. Music was his time to rest and relax, although many people found that his music was leaning more to the taboo side of society.

The bus finally stopped at his house. The house was blue all around. Blue siding, blue roof. It was an old house, always so creaky and drafty. It was lucky the house was able to stay warm in the winter. As usual, Daren just walked up the stairs to head into his room, like usual. He always headed up to his room for some time to himself. For some reason, Daren always hated being around people. Maybe it was the people he was around, or maybe he just liked loneliness. Whatever it was, he didn't care about it. As far as he was concerned, he just hated being around people.

Taking his headphones off, he turned his Zune off and put it on the charger. He always drained battery with how loud the music was. He turned that off just to turn his stereo on. With the soothing metal music playing, Daren laid on his bed letting time pass by while his soul was eased by the sound of music.

He began to fall asleep but was quickly woken by his own mind, he realized he hadn't called Brittany. He usually did when he got home from school. Pulling his cell phone from his pocket, he used speed dial to call her by hitting the number 2 and send. The phone rang twice, then an answer. The voice was gentle and very peaceful.

"Hello?" She spoke.

"Hi, it's me."

"Oh hi, how are you?"

"I'm good, just started to doze off listening to music again, or I would have called right away."

"That's no problem Squee. You do it a lot anyway." There was a casual understanding in her voice. She sounded very at peace when she spoke to him.

"Well Brittany, I'm glad you don't get mad at me whenever I'm late for anything. So how are you anyway?"

"I'm good, just the usual"

"Ahaha, yeah, same shit different day, am I right?" He let out a light chuckle. A smile was creeping on his face, growing by every word Brittany said.

"Yeah, I know what you mean."

Daren was very at peace with himself whenever he spoke to her. It was only at this time that he was ever actually smiling. He always realized because of her that there was always someone that didn't piss him off just by being near him.

Lloyed was cold where he was. In the northern it was warm, but in the south half of the world he was extremely cold. The seasons had just changed, and here he was in the dead of winter with no shelter. His pale skin was fitting for the snowy scenery he sat in. Everything was so cold and white. To him, winter was the season of death and emptiness. But he was still rather happy regardless of his situation. This man was very familiar to times like this, as he was raised in these harsh times. His country was poor, but he made the best of it. He knew how to live.

Lloyed was walking through what should have been a grassy and flowery field, but instead it was all white and bland, lacking variety. Still, he smiled gently. He was headed somewhere and that was all he needed to keep his smile on his face. He would see her. The one he loved most. He was going north only a few miles to see Kira, his fiance. They had been engaged for some time now. It was almost 4 moths, and the wedding would be the next summer. He wanted nothing more than to be by her side, so even in the cold death of winter, he smiled and walked endlessly. He was not taking any roads, as they would only take him longer, he was taking the direct route through all the fields and woods he could encounter. Nothing would stop him. He hadn't seen her in so long.

It was really only one week, but to him, it was forever.

Lloyed pushed on through the cold.

Chapter 2

In the town of Newport Rhode Island, a 25-year-old woman was off for a walk. Gray particles drifted in the breeze. The air was warming this time of year, and days were getting longer. A white stick made of paper extended from the mouth of this women, and smoke rolled off of it flowing gently in the air. The end of the stick was red with heat.

This woman wore a thin leather jacket that had many pockets contained by various zippers. She had one hand in her pocket on the left, and had a blunt in the other hand. Her pants were simple jeans, but worn out from age and usual wear and tear. Under her jacket was a shirt that didn't seem to match her jacket, but it was just her style. The red cloth that made the shirt was very soft and comfortable.

Whenever she wanted to smoke anything, she would walk. By now though, she was headed home to relax. Some lying down would treat her well right now; she wasn’t feeling like doing much at all.

The house she approached was just white, not much yard room because of the neighbor’s houses being crowded together. There were 2 floors to this house that she had all to herself. It was a peaceful place, usually not too loud with very little to worry about. Bianca walked inside to the comfort of her home and lay on the couch, which was the first visible thing upon entering the home. Taking the last huff of her blunt, she let her arm fall with the gravity of the world and she didn’t care about a thing.

Closing her eyes, Bianca began to dose off. Next thing she knew, a strange and unfamiliar woman was standing by her with a strange looking polar. It almost looked like it was possible to split it into two parts. Bianca stood up and asked this person, “Who are you?”

“My name is Lernah” The odd looking women stated. She wore some really strange clothes, along with seemingly un-earthly armor. Her chest was almost completely covered in armor, but it left the upper breast open. There was a sea green cloth in place of where the armor ended. She also had the same designed silver armor on her shoulders, hands, and feet. She almost looked like a warrior of some sort. “I am here simply to see whom it is that I am to be with.”

“Uhm, whaaa-? You’re not making any sense you know.” Bianca was confused, and there was a small laugh in her voice.

“In time, it will make sense. You will see when the time arouses.” With that the strange lady vanished into thin air. Next thing Bianca knew, she was simply lying on her bed and waking up. She had fallen asleep.

“Charlotte Ransom” read the screen. A strange ominous glow came from the box on the desk. It lit her face gently, and the beams of light acted kind to her skin. Her neck was bare, and the light flickered on and off. As usual, she was at her computer before heading to bed. Her online friends were all saying goodnight to her as she was going to bed. Fr most of her friends it was early, but she was in England, which was a large time zone difference to the eastern Americans.

Turning her computer off, she headed up to her bed. It was a quiet night her parents were gone. She was already in her pajamas, so there was no real need to change. Lying in her bed, her mind was drifting. She was thinking. Thinking. Thinking about absolutely nothing. It wasn’t every night that she was so restless, but her mind was so active, she couldn’t get to sleep. 10 minutes passed and she was still very tired and heavy, but her mind was still off on it’s own.
