I'm new, but eh, might as well. Bit of an introduction before the actual story, so skip it if you want.

FANDANGO focuses on a series of events - several grizzly murders, an inactive cult of cannibals, a child's disturbing rape, and a star-crossed teenage love story, among others - that take place in the fictional city of Insensé over several years and string together the stories of several barely related characters, as events get further out of control and a larger plot is slowly unveiled.

That's a basic overview of the plot. A short warning, there's a fair bit of swearing and some adult content (Primarily murder, rape, etc.), which can be fairly disturbing. The story is told from various points of view in several different times, and switches between them on the fly. The year it switches to is presented, though working out which character is up to you. Changes in perspective are shown with a '***'. There aren't any chapters, really - though you could count the different times as chapters. When there's no mention of a change in year, assume it's within the same year.

Anyhoo, on with the story. Again, another warning of growneded-up stuff and all that jazz. Any feedback would be much appreciated. I'll update the story, well... whenever I feel like it. .-.

As he screamed, I watched him being mutilated and thrown to the side by this demon.

Blood ran down his face and he covered his empty socket with his hand, sobbing from his one remaining eye. Fearing my own sight, I turned back to the beast and saw that it was right in front of me.

The demon looked at me with blank, colourless eyes. 'Where is Eldon?' it asked. The voice was not cold, nor deep, as I had expected it to be; it was instead light and warm. I was scared, but at the same time, intrigued.

'W-what's your business with him?' I asked, my voice shaking.

'I have no reason to tell you. You know what I can do to you, as I have demonstrated on your friend.' It knelt down beside me. 'Do not make me ask again.'

I was terrified, staring death in the face, but only one thing was in my mind.

You bastard Enoch.

'I'll assume you've heard.'

'Heard what?'

'Of the murders.'

'Well of course I have; they haven't exactly been kept a secret.'

'Do you know the motive?'

'No...'

'Well, all we know is that he or they are looking for someone. And we have no idea who that someone is.'

'It... it couldn't be Bess... could it?'

'Peh... it could be. That bastard's always pissing the cans off.'

'So, you think it might be the cans?'

'It's a possibility. But at this point, we can't make any claims. We've got no evidence, and we'd only anger them more if we accused them of murder.'

'But they murder all the time, what difference does it make?'

'They murder tramps and the homeless, not those of stature. As much as he's insulted them, the cans wouldn't murder Bess. We don't even know if the cans have had any part in these murders, let alone caused them.'

'Still... it wouldn't be much trouble to look more into Bess' disappearance. I mean, it all fits: his disappearance, the murders, the cans' inactivity, Ike's attack...'

'As I said, we've already considered Bess a possibility, but that doesn't mean we need to come straight out with it and say it was the cans. Now get your coat. A kid was hit by a car, and we need to go down there and ask a few questions.'

I stared out the window, my chin resting on my palm. I was thinking, daydreaming, blocking out the mindless drivel that was spewed at me. He could pretend he knew what he was talking about all he wanted, but it was all bullshit.

He wasn't a teacher who knew this subject, he had been roped in as Ms. Parthena's replacement.

'Do you find this topic boring, young miss?' I turned my head and saw the asshole staring right at me, a scowl across his brow.

'Not at all,' I replied. 'I merely find your method of teaching it idiotic.' Giggles flew around the class. I stared blankly at him as anger contorted his youthful face. 'Outside,' he said surprisingly calmly.

I stood and left the room, feeling the eyes of all the girls on me. I closed the door and leant on the wall beside it, thinking clearly without that bollocks in the background. Why was he here? Better yet, why the fuck is he teaching? He doesn't give a shit about anyone other than himself.

Then again, he could be looking for Ro. Cunt.

When I woke up, I was in a soft, comfortable bed. It was toasty, and smelled of almonds. I tried to raise myself up, but at once pain shot through my elbow and I gasped. I tried again, slower now, and leaned back on my pillow.

I was in the plain, white room of a hospital. There were some cards and a vase of flowers on the cabinet beside me, and an empty chair beside that. I looked to my other side, and saw another bed with Ez asleep on it. He didn't look the best, but he was unharmed for the most part. I sighed, and felt glad that he was all right.

I leant forward and looked past him, until I saw Eric. He was turned away from me, facing the half curtained window. He seemed awake, as he held a book half open to his chest. 'Eric?' I asked quietly.

When he turned, I was horrified: the whole right-hand side of his face was covered in bandages.
