As for me, I'm all for it.

The technology is there, and it's going to save lives. The medical benefits to me are amazing.

I'm Roman Catholic, but I support this. Unlike some religious leaders here who are publicly saying that the politicians who are all for stem cell research are jeopardizing there place in the church.

To me it seems a little ironic that we send soldiers overseas to risk there lives or even die to save another life, but some can't see embryo's, which were going to be destroyed anyway, saving other peoples lives...

So, I'm all for Stem Cell research. One of us is probably going to need it one day.

I'm all for it as well, Clyde.
I think the only reason why people are debating this is because of the killing of the embryo bit, which I get is why religious leaders are protesting it --- because it destroys a life in the process.

But I do think, like you, that it will save lives hereafter, or after they've fully researched it, because we have hardly fathomed the true nature of stem-cells, as far as I've learned.

We're always afraid of a little experimentation, just human nature.

I can see why some people who are strictly religious would debate the legality of this issue. I do however, think that it's the mother's decision whether or not she wants to abort her baby, and it should in turn be the mother's desicion what she does with her aborted baby.

On the other hand...people need to realize that it takes two people to get pregnant, and that if you mistakingly wind up pregnant, it's your own fault. I feel that in cases like this, babies should not be aborted. Not because it's inhumane, but because it's the parents' own mistake...
I think that if there's ever a case where childbirth would harm the mother or child anyhow, then abortion is necessary.

I do agree that stem cell research should be a common practice.

Or that it would support the idea of abortion - that people would have a good reason to have abortion...destroy another life to save another life.

Hmm, I haven't done any thorough research on this topic yet, but I know there's good and bad sides to it. I honestly don't know where I stand in this, but I'm thinking leaning more towards to "No".
