New image has been released of all unit portraits in the game. Some are obvious and some are a bit dubious - there's discussion on battle.net forums with evidence suggesting that a number of the portraits are zerg/protoss hybrids, suggesting they'll at least make an appearance, if not be playable!

OMG Dave these pictures look completely epic!!!:awesome: I have been a fan for this game basically since it first came out, I loved the story, I loved the characters, and the battles were always epic (Carriers FTW!!!). I cannot wait to be able to play with all my favorite characters again in super updated graphics. Plus all the new units look sweet as hell.

Also is that a picture of the Starcraft:Ghost character in there, the picture in the second row fourth one down. That chick looks a lot like the Starcraft:Ghost character. :hmmm:

It is, it's Nova. They abandoned the Ghost project (pun +1?) but found it a waste to throw away her renders and things, so instead she's allegedly cameo-ing quite heavily during Wings of Liberty. Notice there are also quite a lot of zerg/protoss hybrid pictures there. Battle.net forums have christened one as the zerglot, a zealot/zergling combo, and there's apparently one there that's a reaver/zergling combo but I can't figure out what it's meant to be. One of them is also called a xel'naga destroyer, possibly the portraits of the large statue/sentries featured in one of the single player trailers.

...and, as you can see from my avatar, we have Kerrigan's portrait, although, it doesn't look like much of one, I'm thinking it's actually a screenshot - I doubt we'll ever get to control Kerrigan again for her to even have a portrait. Besides, in SC2 the portraits are meant to be more rectangular than square, so I'm not sure how they fit but we'll see soon enough (two weeks!!!).

As part of the Join the Dominion! campaign, now that 100% has now been reached, the internet has been graced with one of the best trailers for any plot I've ever seen!

As an extended version of the trailer premiered at the NBA finals, we see a great deal of the drama that will unfold in this game as well as some of the most iconic screens thus far. Not to mention - we hear Helfer's voice more clearly for the first time!

Check it out now, I fully recommend that even NON-fans watch this trailer - I guarantee you'll be interested!

Dave....literally I think I came in my pants when I watched that. :awesome: It looked like a trailer for a damn animated movie it was that awesome. I seriously, really honestly seriously have not been this excited about a game in a long time.

Few things are annoying me:

Why does Raynor even need to threaten Valerian with death? I never read I, Mengsk so I'm not sure what he's done...

What's Valerian going to offer Raynor? I'm either thinking of a way to get to Kerrigan/get her back to normal, or revenge on Arcturus for abandoning Kerrigan in the first place...

Why are Blizzard being dicks and only letting Kerrigan info trickle out...they keep teasing us with 1 second-long images and I'm about to die. If one more teaser image of her is released I may actually implode.

I've pre-ordered mine and will hopefully have it by Monday...4 days!
 
Pirated the game, completed the Campaign (which was good), now testing my skills in some CPU fights and I'm eventually going to buy the game so I can play online, because I'm really careful at what games I buy :V

Kinda pissed off at them splitting the game into 3 parts tbh. But yeah, it's still a good game.

Campaign after you get access to Battlecruisers: "Who called in the fleet?" x20 (x10 actually, because Tech Reactor is the bomb.

^ Tbf, unnamed mod, there's nothing else he could've said without throwing a load of unnecessary words in there.

As soon as my old flatmate returns my original Starcraft to me, I'll be installing Brood War very quickly and trying my hand at the original multiplayer. Now that I have a bit of knowledge I shouldn't die within 2 minutes...
 
don't you know riku this is a post count section, therefore we have to write an essay in each post

and anyways the answer is YES plenty of people still play brood war. go on battle.net if you don't believe me. there are still competitions and games even though many players have moved onto starcraft 2. i haven't played either one in a while but I can get on if you let me know in advance.
 
Actually, the iCCup is still hosting their Brood War server and still have seasonal ladder rankings and competitions quite often. I've recently joined and am playing every day, since I've nothing else to do.

Ironically, I didn't play BW for four years, until TVTropes RUINED MY LIFE!!, and linked me to English commentaries of the Korean League and got me back into it. I am already better than I was four years ago.

If any one wants to play, PM me or grab my shoulder and pull me, or some how get my attention.
