Ok what star wars referecnes have you noticed in the FF series?

Ill start off by naming the obvious - Biggs and Wedge - fighter pilots in SW who have assumed many roles in FF games.

and also Necrons lines before the final battle in FFIX:

Fear Leads to Anger
Anger leads to hate
Hate leads to suffering

Ripped Driectly from SW XD

theres more but I'd like to see what you guys come up with first
 
I was just about to make a thread about this!

FF XII has a whole lot of stuff ripped from star wars but nothing as obvious as the examples above.
 
XII has the Judges - very dark lord of ths sith - ish XD - and Ashe - well she's princess leia, while Balthier is Han solo XD

and XIIs storyline seems to be a mixture of TPM and ANH
 
The Imperials in FFXII seem to have a Stormtrooper look about them I find.

Also in FFVI, when Locke rescues Celes, we get a variation on the 'aren't you a little short for a Stormtrooper?' line
 
Off the top of my head:

VII - Lifestream = The Force? A bit abstract but the thought of an entity which governs all life seems to ring a bell.

VIII - Another name to add to the list: Nida. Nida was one of the crew on the Super Star Destroyer in Empire Strikes Back, in VIII he ended up piloting the Garden.

XII - An unfriendly desert race.

-A "sky pirate" and his feral companion....sound like any duo we know of?

-
Being double crossed in a "city in the clouds"

-The whole Empire and Resistance/Rebellion thing definitely feels like the original Star Wars trilogy.

-
The ship battle outside the Bahamut, it feels just like the space battle in Return Of The Jedi, with the smaller ships ducking in and out of the larger ones.

XII definitely seemed heaviest on the SW references to me, maybe that's why I liked it so much.:P There's a few more I can think of just from XII but I'd actually need to double check which part of Star Wars it's reminding me of.
 
FFVII - Aerith acting like Obi-wan did to luke - as Clouds spirit guide

FFXII - Ashe's rescue - it just rang bells to that scene where Luke skywalker Rescues Princess Leia for the first time
 
FF7: The Ultima Weapon, as clouds HP dwindles the cutting edge vanishes as though it was made of light and connected to his life force...Compensational Lightsabre anyone?

FF6: Ultima Weapon(again) The blade as it grows shows different images for the attack, as it grows stronger it looks more Lightsaber-ish...It's even been compared to a lightsaber outside of the game it-self...
 
Red XIII a reference to the Red Squadron with his original name being Nanaki. Switch the "N" to the end of the name and you get "Anakin

the name Anakin was only said once in the original trylogie
in episode V ESB on Dagoba by Ben Kenobi to Luke
