First I suggest to have good physical power so lvl 9+ weapons are recommended.
Lvl 3 Commander (Lightning)
Lvl 3 Medic (Hope or Vannile)
Lvl 2 or 3 Synergist (Sazh)
That is pretty much the only paradigm you need to defeat him.
And absolutely NOT when he has his pauldrons and his other little magic heads should you use an Eidolon because you will lose tactical advantage more than likely unless you use it at the start of the battle.
If this goes correctly you will be greatly defended and get close to dying but your medic should handle that while your synergist gives you "Shell" (defense against magic) and Enthunder, Enfire, and so on and also speeds up all of your parties moves. Make sure you use Libra so your synergist protects you from the right element.
When you have all of his armor knocked off and he does Destrudo, which isn't until you get the main body down 1/4 health that he will, he doesn't attack for a bit so right when you see that ability switch to Relentless assault and get his Destrudo down atleast once while raising his stagger to the 200% range (he will bow his head and make a grunting noise) and his lightning balls will go down to about 9 instead of like 16 then attack one more full round and then switch back to your previous Paradigm, keep doing this and you should be fine.
Well that's it tell me what happens please cause I defeated him on my second try doing this and he only got me down to no lower than 200 hp
