I never understood some things about FFX plot. First of all, Tidus is from Dream Zanarkand, all right? Well, he is a dream himself, and because of it at the end of the game, when Yevon and the Eons' spirits are dead, he disappeared. Is it right?
Was Yevon to create, 1000 years ago, Dream Zanarkand, hiding himself into Sin and destroying the real Zanarkand to win the machines war?
But who is dreaming about Dream Zanarkand? Tidus is really from that place or his dreaming himself when he plays the first blitzball match in the game, when Sin attacks his city, when Auron brings him to Spira?

Another thing. In the end of the game, after the last words of Yuna, "never forget them", Tidus wakes up in water. What this means? He was sleeping? He have dreamed everything? Or where he is now?

I'm confused...

Thank you for your answers, and sorry for my bad English, I'm italian. :P

I think that the fayth are the ones who dream and make Dream Zanarkand exist. About the Final scene, Tidus is revived by the fayth in gratitude of Yuna saving the world. He was returned to Besaid. This all comes from X-2.
Hope that helps. :)

Yevon was a priest of Zanarkand. Zanarkand and Bevelle were at war. Bevelle had technology. Zanarkand had summons. Yevon convinced a large group of people to sacrifice themselves (kind of like a cult leader) so that he could create an incredibly strong summon with their pyreflies. They took their own lives, created "Sin", and attacked Bevelle. It then came back and completely demolished Zanarkand. Yevon had the remaining people of Zanarkand dream of what Zanarkand was like before Sin destroyed it. That is "the dream of the Fayth". That is how Tidus and Jecht were created. They were dreams of the real citizens of Zanarkand who had taken their own lives to preserve their city in a dream state.

Yep, when Yevon and the other remaining summoners of the REAL Zanarkand finally rest, Tidus disappears along with their dreaming.

Was Yevon to create, 1000 years ago, Dream Zanarkand, hiding himself into Sin and destroying the real Zanarkand to win the machines war?
No, Yevon merely wanted to keep the memory of Zanarkand as it was ALIVE, and he did this through the Summoning and the power of dreams. Encasing himself in Sin allowed him to continue to summon the dream of Zanarkand.

But who is dreaming about Dream Zanarkand?
Yevon and all the Summoners encased in Mt. Gagazet.

Tidus is not real ... in the Blitzball game he plays in before Sin arrives, he is existing in the Dream Zanarkand ... but through the Fayth he is made 'real' in the true world of Spira. He is in fact a dream based on Shuiyin.

If you play FFX-2, you learn that the Fayth have allowed Tidus to have a 'real' existence in Spira ... in order to love and live with Yuna.
