Number 1 wins for me
Number 1. The theme is apparent and obvious. The text fits. The simple brushing is nice. The border is kind of ...meh, but nice try going with something else than stroke.
Number 2. The background is nice. Not sure if its brushed or not, but its good. The color is good. Not blinding but attractive. But there's too much open space around the render. Cause the render is so tall, its makes a lot of space on the sides. Maybe you should have resized the render a little bit so it was a little smaller. And the text doesn't really work for me either. It's just very plain and doesn't really add much to the sig.
Btw, someone PM when the next one starts. I will do it if I know about it.

o.0 Sorry been away on an expedition so didn't make one for this SOTW.
1 for sure IMO. Great pen tooling/freehand and nice colouring.
2 for me is just bland. As far as I can tell it's just a render on a brushed background with a few streaks of colour.

I like how smaller and more compact it looks. To much space in the second one.

Im chosing number 1. Love the colours, burshes and font used. But I love the white border thats been used. And 1 is a decent size for me, 2 seems too big.
