Thread about Sonisphere Festival. Sonisphere is easily becoming one of the biggest (Well actually it already is) Rock/ Metal/ Alt music festivals in the UK and other parts of the world. Personally I like it more than Download. I'll be going for the second year running and can't wait! Just hope there is less police cautions on the way there this time...

Parkway Drive and Biffy Clyro arn't normally my thing but will give them a go anyway. Will be cool to see Slayer again and more of Anthrax as missed most of their set when they played last year. I've seen Megadeth and Metallica before a couple of times but I've never seen Megadeth with their original bassist before, whom has recently rejoined the band, so that will be novel. and there is no complaints seeing Metallica again as I'm sure they'll put on a great headline set. Missed out on Motorhead last year (I try and catch them locally every year) so I'm pleased they are playing Sonisphere. They may be old and their sound may be of basic formula, but there is no denying they are a great live band. Mastodon are one of my favourite bands of the moment. Caught them last year on their Crack the Skye Tour and they blew me away so looking forward to them again. Hopefully they'll play more older stuff. In Flames is a rather recent discovery for me so not all too familiar with their stuff but what I've heard (especially their older material) sounds great so unless another band I like more is clashing with them I'll be watching. And finishing it all off is Slipknot. I was never a big fan of Slipknot when I was younger and they first got big, but after their 'Vol. 3' album I started appreciating them more and now really like them. Seeing them at Download a few years back definitly helped with that. They put on a fantastic, emotional show with a outstanding atmosphere and that is only going to be even more powerful at Sonisphere seeing as its their first and only UK show in a few years and the loss of bassist Paul Grey last year fresh in their and the crowds minds.

Are you going to Sonisphere Festival? Perhaps your going to one of the other Sonispheres around the world? Thoughts on the line-up and who you would like to see play? Talk about it here.
