The recent Sonics have all sucked to be frank, I think I have to go with Mario. But I really lioved Sonic more from back in the day during the Sega Genesis times
Mario is far more consistent than Sonic in that it regularly gives us good games, and Sonic hasn't fared well in the 3D era while Mario 64 was genre defining and Sunshine is a far better game than 90% of the rest of the current platformers.
Also the Sonic games are being fucked about by adding more and more pointless Sonic clones which do nothing for me, these are Sonic games for Gods sake.

mario is the oldest characters in nintendo so im go with mario
i don't think that sonic is being mess up its just changing the series a little bit.
Beyond the GBA and DS games there has been no good Sonic games, the Dreamcast Adventure titles were seriously flawed with the crap actors, characters and that damn camera which they still refuse to this day to sort out. All the later titles like Heroes and the recent release on the 360 has pretty much killed any hope that there will be a revival although the Wii game has shown some promise.

I have no problem with Sonic, just the vast majority of non-Sonic characters and the non-2D platformers. But Mario is superior in the end.

Well if i had a choice i would go with either silver or Shadow, they beat sonic anyday, but if sonic had the chaos emeralds, mario wouldn't stand a chance, but Mario still doesn't stand a chance anyway

I wish that people would really read the first bloody post, it's not Mario Vs. Sonic as in a fight. It's between the games and the vast majority will say Mario > Sonic.
