I'm a bit confused about the battle system on the older games. I go into Configuration and change the battle speed to the highest speed and also turn on active mode for faster battles. This is especially useful when I'm roaming areas to level up. Anyway, in FFV and FFVI it seems the speed doesn't change at all and in FFV it's always on "wait" even when I change the setting to active.

I just now tested this in FFVII and the speed does change along with changing the active and wait setting.

Can anyone put in any thoughts or imput?

Thanks

Well when I play the games on their original format (SNES) the settings work fine and do make a (albeit small) change to the speed of the game. However if I use the emulated versions at friends houses, or the PSX versions, the setting appears to be ignored. Perhaps it's a fault with the ROMS used in both cases?

I think this will be better suited in the Help Booth

I know when ive played FFVI on the PS1, its painfully slow no matter what I set the battle speed to, such to the point that I refuse to play it again unless I got it for the GBA or they made a remake...(prays)
