PROLOGUE:
A long long time ago... There was a city....A city called Shaivran This was a huge incredibley populated city. All who lived there were happy with their lived and enjoyed the peace that was always present. That was until meteor struck. This giant flaming ball of destruction crashed into the city of Shaivran and nearly destroyed it. Not only did the meteor almost destroy the city, it made the ground supporting Shaivran collapse, thus sending Shaivran plummeting into the earth. The large city crashed through layers and layers of earth. But somehow it mostly stayed in tact. It was as if Shaivran was on a large rock platform that fell and somehow Shaivran stayed on it. The city now has been cast into darkness....sealed off from the outside world. The people have lived here so long they have almost forgotton the surface. Faint memories of a life with a sun, a moon, stars, warmth, rest in the back of their minds, just out of reach. However, they are not completely helpless, they have found rocks and ores, with which to smith things with, they have found strange stones that glow and give them precious light. Being beneth the surface has reduced the modernness of things. They seem to have gone back to primitive state of life due to the lack of the things they once had above. And yet they still push on...hoping....dreaming...someday maybe they will find their way back to the surface.
THE CITY:
Shaivran is a huge city. It is made mostly of brownish stone and. All the buildings are pretty small considering that it is underground. There is one tall building though. The church where those who are religious can go to pray and speak with others like them. The reason this building is so tall is because the city fell into a large cavern that happens to be higer in one section. The miners have been working to explore further into the underground caves, hoping to discover something worth their while. But it is not completely safe to explore the caves, strange beasts lurk throughout the dark saves just waiting to eat the nearest explorer. The beasts can be all shapes and sizes so it is best to keep your guard up. You as citizens will not fight each other but fight the beasts on outskirts of the city. Shaivran is about to face a huge event, The Shaivran Guard as they are called fight the creatures that will some times attack the city. They have rifles that are strangely enough powered by the crystals that light the gloomy city. The crystals seem to be an incredible power source as they make the weapons shoot weak lasers. This is the only thing that seems to be advanced in this city.
But on to the event. The city is buzzing with activity because the Shaivran Guard has proposed an expedition into the other caves to explore. This will not be a simple trip to try and get items for the city. This will be a long trek through the caves that will be very dangerous. The city has mixed feelings about this event so everyone is kind of freaked out. People can sign up to go on the expedition but they must sign a piece of paper that says things like: We will not be held responsible if you, die, are injured, or anything of the sort, join at your own risk. So the city is in a tizzy over this wondering what will happen. Anyone who doesn't chose to go will simply live their normal lives in Shaivran while the others are gone...
But then..maybe the dangerous wont always stay outside of Shaivran....
Maybe the danger will come to them...
But when...where....
