Prologue

______________________________

Everyone deserves a Home. A place where you feel safe and secure, where you can be yourself. A place you can always find, when you feel lost. Something that’s always there. Always yours.

Just like everyone deserves a Family. Those people make you feel safe and secure, they love you for who you are. People who will be right with you, when you feel lost. Someone that’s always there. Always yours.

Solid ground.

It’s hard to realize, how truly happy someone makes you. How much they mean to you, when you realize nothing’s changed… But at the same time… Everything is different. They give you this childish heart bounce and butterfly feeling. Like you can take on the whole world with your bare hands, while you’re really just an ordinary man. Like how when they smile, it makes you feel like everything’s alright. They give you the will to continue to believe in what you’re fighting for. They’re your hopes. Your dreams.

Being raised in a broken family is never easy. It takes more than just determination to keep at it. It something that has to come from both sides. It needs to be meant. Said, heard, and felt. It’s something that needs to be worked on, day in, day out. Some will work out perfectly from the start, until the very end. Others will end up broken, with nothing left to lose. …And than, there’s some… Who manage well. Who face the daily struggles.

Just, like normal families, they will have their ups and downs. Families that have potential to work out. Wounds made, will be properly healed, and family memories, cherished.

Picture perfect.

Like a family photo, left to collect dust on a messy desk, that’s left in a cold, lifeless room. When a hand brushes over that frame, two shades can be seen. A clear view on some places, and other parts blurred from the remaining dust. Not certain what’s ‘there’ behind the dust. Like how you’re not certain what’s left, when the arguments are over… When the wound is still so fresh…

Obstacles, daily fights. Not everyone can explain ‘why’ they’re there, but they’re there for a reason.

Picture frames don’t collect dust, when brushed off daily. A family doesn’t fall apart, if you take the time to appreciate what you have at the end of the day. If you work on it, it can’t be left to dwell into those dusty corners.

Those who have their heart in it, and don’t deny what makes them happy, those will be the ones that have the needed potential, of what it takes, to be a real family…

Storynote:

Rating: M [16+], just because the story does after all, have Cid in it.

That's the wannabe prologue. xD I already uploaded this on FanFiction.net, and was actually planning on keeping it there. I decided to post it here too, we'll see how it goes.

I'm trying my hardest with the grammer, but sometimes putting it out right when you're dutch is hard in english. o_O;; We'll see how this goes. Enjoy? C&C?

This was a really good prologue!

Not many stories have a decent and interesting prologue like that, which helps to set the rest of the story up.

You've got excellent grammar, punctuation and spelling, though I noticed a couple of little, tiny, minuscule spelling mistakes. XD

Other than that I look forward to reading the first chapter. =)
