Scars of the Heart: Zeria VS Julius
sunlight-forest-01.jpg

The wind was calm today, only an occasional gentle breeze blowing her vivid red hair. Her viper yellow eyes were closed now as she leaned against a tree. The forest was dense and thick. But the clearing she stood in was wide. The sun shown through the trees on the clearing like the lights of the heavens shining down on this soon to be battlefield. Lush grass and vibrant leaves rustled. Yet no sound came from the woman in waiting.

Her leather gear was tight to her body, comfortably laced so she would be able to combat easily, her blades strapped to her back, guns hitched at her belt with extra ammo for reloading, her bag on the ground at her side with basic medical supplies inside, and the various knives and daggers strapped to her body, well hidden within the leather meant to protect her body from harm. The black top that laced up in the back and covered most of her torso, yet revealing just a little bit of her stomach and leaving her shoulders wide open. The leather pants that fit her curves and were tight to her legs, held up by her studded belt that had compartments full of ammo for her guns. The black combat boots, thick, yet light enough on her that she could move fast. The leather vambraces around her wrists and forearms, the top lined with a metal bar for blocking.

Her two blades, key weapons for battling. The first was her Hellfire Blade, the blade that burned as hot as fire the longer she fought. It's silver and diamond alloy combination made it a powerful blade, and with its fire enchantment, it was a good weapon for Zeria to wield, being light and easily handled. But it wasn't nearly as important as her other. The Punisher Gunblade. A treasured gift from Julius himself. The blade, black and split in two halves with a strong metal alloy combination of iron, silver, and diamond, made it a very strong and durable weapon with great cutting power, the hilt bearing a 'Z' shaped emblem.
Then were her two guns. Solid black, triple barreled, and lethal when she combined them were her great speed. They are modelled after the Cerberus style and have her middle name engraved in the bottom barrel of each gun in a light silver.

Zeria sighed, brushing a loose strand of hair from her face, then tying her hair up in a black ribbon, leaving it in a ponytail, so it wouldn't get in her face anymore.
~I wonder when he will arrive...~ she wondered, shuffling, then settling back against the tree she had chosen to lean against...
~He should be here soon...~
She brushed her fingertips along the Punisher's hilt, smiling.

Another breeze, and she sighed, reaching to touch the small scar on her left shoulder from a previous battle. This was an agonizing wait for her, her heart aching with each passing moment. Questions unanswered. Feelings unreturned. Desires unmet. Everything was another pressure on her. And she intended to get all of her answers from him. Zeria held the Griever necklace around her neck in her hand tightly, eyes still closed, remembered all of the key moments in her life that involved
him. She didn't just want these answers...she needed
these answers...

There was an ominous light cutting through the dense fog that was enveloping the forest. Shades of green and gray were reflected on the puddles scattered across the terrain as well as on the dew which covered the surface of the leaves. The atmosphere was dense and it felt heavy, almost overwhelming. Not a sound was emitted, not even the melodies of the singing birds which once used to entertain the local flora and fauna with their divine chorus. Only silence and an inexplicable sense of dread was all that could be felt. Suddenly there was a noise...

It came from the left...it was the sound of several footsteps stomping the ground, crushing leaves and dry branches underneat. The crack made by the breaking of the small branches echoed through the vicinity. There was no wind; no gentle breeze to ease the pain of the weary traveler.

Finally, a man wearing his shoulder length brunette hair appeared in the scene. He was clad in a wearing a black leather coat that reaches the level of his calves, with silver buttons engraved with a lion’s head decorating it. The coat also has the image of a silver cross on the right sleeve, which starts at shoulder length and ends right at the wrist (The coat has several pockets in which this man keeps small items such as rings, pendants, or keys). He wears a pair of dark brown deerskin fingerless gloves with a thin (1/8 of an inch) metal plate on top of the back of his hand which shifts to his knuckles when he tightens his fists. His coat also has two metallic pauldrons (shoulder pads) which are attached to his coat with screws. The pauldrons have small orifices (three per pauldron) right where the arm joins with the upper part of the torso. Julius’s coat also has small, diamond shaped elbow pads made with a flexible yet durable material and covered with thin steel plates. Underneath his trench coat, the unknown swordsman wears a battle hardened breastplate which covers most vital points, mainly the heart. He also wears a reddish turtle neck vest beneath the breastplate, with leather wrapped in the form of an “X” across his chest. He also is seen using black leather pants held with a dark brown leather belt that has a lion’s head plate like emblem on the middle. The traveler also wears a pair of black boots with plates covering the area of his toes and ankle. Among other things, the man wears a silver chain necklace which bears a sword shaped insignia, and a silver ring engraved with arcane runes and a red gemstone embedded on the ring.

The mysterious swordsman soon came at the presence of the woman, unbeknowing that she hoped that he would be the man she was waiting. Unfortunately, albeit this man's name was "Julius" as well, he was far from the man she longed for so many time.

Once at her presence, the swordsman folded his arms and then he raised his right hand to his face, pressing his forefinnger against his lower lip whilsts smirking. The warrior's left eyebrow arched in awe, as he found quite amusing to be mistaken with someone else. Sighing, the man lowered his arms and then placed his hands next to his thighs, almost standing like a soldier as his cold eyes dichromatic eyes were fixed on her.

"So you were waiting for me? Sorry to disappoint you...but the dream you have long sought is dead..." Julius said with a mocking tone, his cold words released like sharp darts at her heart.

Zeria froze, her eyes snapping open and locking on the man who stood before her. Her heart rate began to climb, and she had to fight to keep from trembling. Her voice wavered for only a second, her viper yellow eyes having lost their bite, and obtained a sorrow-filled shimmer.

"Is it really you? No..."

She shook her head. This could not be her Julius. Her Julius was filled with wisdom and kindness. And he cared about Zeria. He would never intentionally try to wound her. Her eyes obtained the familiar battle spark once more, her body tensing in readiness.

"You are not my Julius. Who are you and what have you done with him? Why are you here?"

Ever the question asker, she thought it over, then lunged at him, swinging her left fist for a fiesty punch to the skull, screaming "Answer me!" as she did so. Her lithe body moved fast and dangerous like the viper, yet with the gracefulness of a dancer. Her weapons were chinking together as she moved too. Her shake had turned from pain, to rage in almost an instant as she attacked him. She was determined, and there was no chance she was going to give up.

"I want answers! And I intend to get them out of you, no matter what!"
