So, my recent fasciantion with Eva "Evita" Peron, which has lead me to do extensive research on the subject, lead me to article in some major newspaper, I forgot which, that had a headline something like "Don't Cry For Me, Sarah Palin." I was appaled.

Whatever her critics say of her politcal background, Evita tried to help the poor, and according to some Argentians who claim to have experinced it first hand, did. She was a shining light of hope for most I would think. More of an Argentian Princess Di, than a third class politican.

Palin, on the other hand, did nothing but accuse people of making fun of her, or trying to put her off as sexy. Eva would've used that, Palin just complained.

In short, my views are that Evita is way beyond a politican who is likely to be a footnote in history, at least political history, like Sarah Palin.

What do think? Agree or disagree, I'd love to hear your opinions.

The two are ideologically opposed, really. Eva Perón was a liberal, campaigning for women's suffrage and labor movements; Sarah Palin is a conservative, campaigning for... um... bridges... . All of Argentina and most of Latin America love/d Perón. I don't know that you could find a more divisive politician in North America not named Clinton, than Palin.

Frankly, I don't think the two share much, if anything.
