It's has been recently announced that Saddam Husein (sp?) has been sentenced to death. I created this thread in the debate forum because I wish to ask a question: do you agree with the courts decision?

I do. I'll post why soon, I only created this at the tail-end when trying to leave :P

I do not know a great deal about Hussein, but my arguments about the deserved death penalty upon despots and murderers have been expressed in other threads, so I suppose my answer is also yes.

I totally agree with this sentence, He has killed many lives, including a whole village of 175 people, if thats not enough, he has also killed countless other for either disobeying him or disagreeing with his actions. He stole so much money from the country and used it as his own, building palaces, trading it with other countries and for his own good. He didn't even care about his country, he let them suffer while he sits on the throne not doing anything to help his country.
I am Iraqi so therefore I was really happy when i heard about this earlier this day.

Simply put he is an enemy. I see no reason to allow my enemies to survive I do not know why America or anyone else has wated so long I would have chopped his head off asoon as the interogation was complete.

I hope it hurts. If I had my way, he would be skinned alive, tied to a wood post covered in salt and burned, so for his last moments, he will feel the pain and suffereing of the families of those who died.

The point if this thread wasn't to discuss the brutality of his death, it's to ask ourselves "Were the courts justified in sentencing him to death?", hence the reason I created this thread in the DEBATE forum.

Well, is this not really the same argument as that conducted in the Capital Punishment thread, then?

Either way, my reasons for advocating his death are just the same as the ones expressed in that.

holy crap man this is sad when will he be executed???

I think when he says "this is sad", i think he was being sarcastic, or atleast thats what it seems like to me. I do think he deserves to be executed. And i disagree with the person who said that they shouldve killed him right after the interrogation(no offense:) ) because the way they did it, going through court and all, the Iraqi government is showing that justice prevails.
