Setzer's Tent
Preferred setting: A large grassy plain. Off in the distance, you can see a forest in front, and a large housing complex behind the fighter. He prefers to fight in the shade of night, so that he doesn't overheat in his armor. There is a road that leads from the forest to the complex, and traffic frequents that road, causing occassional obstacles during the fight.

Alexander walked into the open area past the forest. The night was still, and he could hear the crickets chirping. He thought about it for a minute, then nodded his head.

"Not a creature in sight. Another day in paradise."

He sat down on the ground, and dropped his sword and shield right next to him. He knew that he was leaving himself open for a sneak attack, but he was a bit tired and needed to rest after walking all day. He sat and looked at the housing complex ahead of him, and wondered about the poor soul that would challenge him next.

After her previous fight Carolina moved inward, traveling a great deal down a well-paved road. The road led her to a forested area, leading towards a grassy plain, ideal who large-scale army battles. There was also a small town in the distance as well.

Carolina was lost in a foreign land. She had no idea where to travel to, and if there were more people like that witch, then she would have to find a place to rest for the time being. The Felidian Duchess began heading for the town, looking to rest her weary body before continuing her solo expedition.

Carolina walked out of the forest, and upon doing so she saw a warrior sitting on the grassy plain. His sword and shield sprawling right next to him. She figured that the man lived around these parts and thought he could help show her around. Walking up to the man in question, Carolina asked. "Kind sir, I am not familiar with this area, would you be kind enough to show me around the area please?"

"No. I would be kind enough, however, to show you the end of my blade."

As he said this, he stood up and pulled his sword from his shieth. He knew now that this person was lost, so that made it easier for him to fight. However, as he looked upon his opponent, Alexander noticed something that made him a bit uneasy inside:

"It's a woman?"

He had never fought a woman before, so his approach had to be different, since he did not know how she fought. He picked up his shield and pointed his sword at her, using his shield for cover, and waiting for her next move.

"Well, that is rude!" Carolina said. She was annoyed that the man stood up and pull his sword from his sheath, prompting Carolina to draw her own sword and pointing it at her new opponent, mirroring his own movements. The man had a similar weapons style, a sword and a shield, and neither knew of the others style of combat. All in all, it looks to be evenly matched.

Pulling her sword back, Carolina sprinted forward, darting towards her foe at her top speed of 20 mph. As soon as she reached halfway towards her target, she jumped forward, raising her sword up into the air.

As soon as Carolina got over her target she swung her sword at her opponent. She figured that he would think it was an obvious and straightforward strike, which is why if countered, she could either use her shield to block the attack and continue the attack, or get some footing and use her agility to back flip away from him.

"Whoever said I was nice?"

Alexander smiled as his opponent pulled her own weapon and prepared to fight. He thought about making the first move, then decided against it as she started to charge toward him. He watched her jump into the air, while still a good distance away from him. He could tell that this was going to be a high attack on him, so he got low and moved his shield to a position above his head, to deflect the strike if necesarry.

True to what she believed, Carolina's attack was blocked by the man's shield. Getting a foot on the man's shield, she back flipped away from her opponent, then charged again. The man had a good defense, she'll give him that. If she is to achieve victory, Carolina would have to continue to press the attack.

She went ahead and charged forward, swinging her sword right at her opponents legs. The attack would serve to slow him down, with which to make it easier to use her agility to overwhelm and defeat her opponent. If it is unsuccessful, then she'll just have to stay up close and fight it out.

Alexander watched from under his shield as the woman planted and flipped off his shield. He smiled as his defense worked perfectly. The smile faded, however, as he watched her land and charge again, this time aiming a strike at his legs. He turned to face her, but she was too quick, and the strike landed, taking out his legs and causing him to fall to the ground.

"Christ, give me a break, woman." He thought to himself.

Using his shield, he got up and reapplied his defensive position, this time staying lower to the ground in case of another attack to his legs.

Carolina managed to land a hit on her opponent's legs. However, she was surprised that he wasn't fighting back. Instead, he kept trying to continue his defense. She didn't feel right, fighting an opponent that was not fighting back.

After seeing him go back to his defensive stance, Carolina went ahead and rushed forward for another attack, however she was hesitant, as she did not like the idea of fighting an opponent that does not want to fight back. This could be a mistake for her as it could give her opponent the advantage.

Instead of using her sword to attack, she was going to use her shield, ramming her left arm towards the man's head. The attack probably could knock him out cold, but if he doesn't want to fight, then she saw no point in killing the man.

As he braced himself up, he saw the woman change her tactic against him. Instead of going for a fatal blow like he thought, she went for a shield bash to his head. He thought this was odd, but he ignored that thought, and put up his own shield to block it.

"Why is she letting me live? She could have easily killed me right now."

He decided to kick it up a notch, and go attack. While his shield was pinned to hers, he took his sword and aimed a sweeping strike below his shield at his opponents left leg. The attack would not cripple, but it would injure enough to perhaps slow the pace down.

The attack connected with his opponent's shield, looks like he had some fight after all. However, Carolina didn't notice the sweeping strike aiming for her left leg until it made contact. The attack left a cut about 2 and a half inches deep. While it did not outright cripple her, it would probably cripple her speed which had been her only advantage in combat thus far.

Carolina got onto one knee as she yelled out in pain, but she was a warrior, she had to fight through the pain. She stepped back, chanting a spell from within her mind. A faint blue glow began eminating from her, and for the next 30 seconds, this blue glow would be her own personal barrier, protecting her from physical attacks. With this in mind, she was now on the defensive, her agility and speed reduced, she'll have to play this one by ear, as the saying goes.

Alexander couldn't help but smile when he heard her cry out in pain. He kept his shield up and ready to block, in case she tried something quick, but instead of attacking, she took a step back. After she took the step back, Alexander saw a blue glow emit from the woman. This glow wrapped around her and appeared to form a barrier of some kind. Since he had never seen something like this, Alexander lowered his guard and wondered how to approach this new development.
