Reno's hair

Okay, I admit it is a stupid question but...

Is Reno dying his hair? Or his natural hair color is red?


I ask this because of a simple reason.
There are many anime in which there are characters with red hair, which symbolize the same personality as Reno's.
But anime have even green hair and such (even though it is not the real color. it is just in order to make the characters look different from each other) while I never saw such a thing in the FFs (aside of FFIV with Rydia).

The only somehow strange hair color in FFVII is Sephiroth's.
But I see it is rather as gray or white (don't get why it is called silver...) and it is not a strange color.


So the hair color of other characters in FFVII is realistic (though, the haircut maybe not ...) and that will make you think he is dying his hair.
But that anime thing with red hair and his personality is really bothers me, so I am not sure.
I tried to look at his eyebrow, but I can't get whatever it is red or brown...


What do you all think/know about the subject?

There are a few other characters in FFVII with weird hair colours.

The main example I can think of is Dyne, who has purple hair. But that might be dyed as well (though I don't see why he would in his state).

I think we're just meant to assume that Reno's hair is red, though I do not recall any other red haired characters seen in the game. Perhaps that is down more to the fact that generic people character models tended to be black, brown and blonde colour hair and that red hair would not be all that common in comparison to these types. The people we see in each town, we are to assume, are not the whole population of the town but just a representation of the population.

That said, when viewing pics of his Advent Children look such as...

His eyebrows look dark brown / black and hence suggesting that his hair is dyed.


It's not clear though, but I don't think it would odd if it was either way. If he dyed it, then fair enough. If he doesn't, then we just have to assume that red hair is pretty rare and not as common as other hair types, and if the town maps were bigger and had more people in them then there might be more red haired people walking about in them.

Hrrrm, when it comes to any sort of anime or video game thing I tend to just assume that it's natural...cause that's just how they roll. However Reno would totally be the type to dye his hair...we all know he's that vain (teehee) and judging from the screenshot with the eyebrows I would say dyed.

I never really thought about that before..I mean..with the original game well, the graphics didn't really allow you to think about those kinds of things...and when it came to the movie I jsut kept wondering about the tattoos....woah, Imagine if he naturally had like..brown hair or some nonsense? How weird would that look?

With the eyebrow thing, that's a good point. I have brown eyebrows though, and blonde hair.
Also typically with natural hair it will darken at the roots and be lighter at the top, which is true with Reno. I've always thought it was natural, just rare.

Since it's a game, I'd assume Reno's hair is natural. This is a fantasy world after all. Your hair doesn't have to be the regular brown or black shade. Look at Cloud. He doesn't even look close to Japanese, and Reno is no different. Unless someone from SE actually confirms that he dyed it or somethin', then I really think it's natural.

Hmmm. I never really thought of that before. Since it's a video game,I say Reno's hair is naturally red. But then again he has brown/black eyebrows, so I can't really say.XD
