so that would somewhat prove basch's story

That was afterwards. I mean at the time of Basch's confession Vaan seemed to instantly believe him. Maybe it's just me. haha.

squall and tidus are much better than immature vaan

but i dont think that you can have vaan and reks and penelo, it would wreak the group. and since the story is seen through vaan's eyes he is the main character, not ashe of reks & etc. so it wouldnt work because vaan would be telling reks what to do.
any way reks has to die to frame basch for the murder of the king,

Eh I don´t see how Tidus was more mature than Vaan. I think Tidus was more immature. He was whining much more than Vaan. Vaan was only stupid, but I like the fact the "main" character isn´t brightest crayon in the box.

Back on Topic:

I think during the game they should've had some Flashbacks of some times where Reks and Vaan were playing or wrestling or something. I mean they WERE brothers and all. I would've liked to have seen something of their lifestyle.
