anybody notice any events or details that were references to FFtactics? i was kinda hoping there would be but i didn't notice anything my first time through.

also, they both occur on the same world, correct? Ivalice. does anybody have any theories about when chronologically they take place in relation to each other? or, where exactly? are there any comparisons with the terrains of certain areas or towns between the two worlds?

it's been a year or so since i played XII and a really long time since i last played tactics. anyways, just wanted to hear some of your guys' theories.

What would you expect from the Ivalice Alliance?

According to wiki and other sources...this is what I think personally and heard,

FF12 and most likely FFTA happened before FFT, example of that would the extinction of moogles (aka sweegy woods description) and other races (aka not being part of FFT, I don't see any Moogles or Viera's joining up with Ramza other than a summon spell).

Some players even suggested that FFT's location was on a different region of Ivalice where Hume's ruled. Some even suggest that the practices of religion had a "ethic cleansing" rule where all non-hume should be exterminated kinda like the Holocaust.....reffering to the Glabados religion established by St. Ajora.

THEN after (most likely) or around the time of FFT we have "Vagrant Story", Ashely Riot plays the role of a special VKP Riskbreaker (or know as a dog of state/bounty hunter/mercenary). The game refrences FFT such as Agrias and other stuff. Pretty much everything is set in a dark ages time setting, also magic was pretty rare thing to see. It also explains a lot about the story about Ivalice's current religion and downfall of certain people important to Ivalice (corruption within the church/royalty)

It's what I personally think......

FF12 (and other titles in relation)+FFTA = FFT = Vagrant Story

You've got to be kidding me. Many of the espers are the same ones from Tactics and Balthier is the ancestor of Mustadio. There are tons of other little connections too (many things in XII refer back to the Wonders in Tactics).

Chronological order goes as such:

XII --> Revenant Wings --> Tactics A2 (hard to place this one, it's somewhere close to RW) --> Tactics --> Vagrant Story

Tactics Advance falls outside canon because it's a fantasy world dreamed up by Mewt based off the real Ivalice. This page explains the whole timeline quite thoroughly.

This should help:

Again, Tactics Advance isn't in there because it isn't canonical and you can actually choose locations to place landmarks. The sky continent Lemurés (and the rest of Purvama) is located above the Naldoan Sea, which is over by the Ridorana Cataract.

It's been a while since i last played tactics. and i meant references other than the summons, considering many of the summons in XII are used in other final fantasies as well. i meant plot related things.

and how do you get that balthier is the ancestor of mustadio?

and it was just a question. no need to get hostile.

Hey it's okay to express your opinions and questions,

You shouldn't be scared or feel any hostility on this forum. I agree with you, I don't see Mustadio in any relation to Balthier (however it's his opinion but I don't see any evidence other than being able to use a gun), EVEN if you played "War of the Lions" ,the port to the psp, where Balthier is a playable character, Mustadio had no special scene with Balthier. If you based Mustadio on Balthier, the only thing I see in relation is the use of a gun....but remember that so many others can use a gun in the game...like New Zodiac Brave Balk.

I've never played Tactics or even read up about it until now, so didn't realise it was set in Ivalice. I knew some Espers appeared in both, but that's about it. Interesting read. :)

Well obviously there won't be anything directly plot related, since XII takes place at least a few hundred years before Tactics, I'd venture 300 to 500 years. The relations lie in the summons and other things scattered about Ivalice.

I don't see Mustadio in any relation to Balthier

It's quite simple really: their last name. Ffamran mied Bunansa and Mustadio Bunansa.
