I just started flying around in the garden, so I decided to go around the world and collect the items needed to upgrade my weapons. I'm using a guide on the interwebs that says some of the items need to be obtained w/RARE ITEM or LVL DOWN. I don't get it... can someone explain? Also where is Island closest to hell/heaven? And lastly, am I the first person to access FFF.net via Nintendo DS?

The RARE ITEM is an ability of Bahamut and helps you obtain rare items a lot easier. Sometimes it don't help and to get some items its best to not have it equip. LVL DOWN is a tonberry ability and helps too. Monsters level up with you in the game and as they get on higher levels they learn more magic, drop different items, and stats go up. So if the item your going for only gets dropped by a level 10 gendel and your level 30+, LVL DOWN the grendel and he'll be at the level needed. It works well with its counter skill LVL UP.
The Island closest to hell is the north west island. It has no beaches and is away from land so the only way to get there is the airship. Island closest to heaven is an island to the far east near the chocobo sancuary.
