I've noticed this too, however I always seem to hit my R1 button when anyone attacks, even from other FF's or RPG games

I thought it was only Squall and Seifer that could do it coz they had the gun blades :S

but it did notice Quistis did have a tendency to have more critical hits than the other character... just thought it was coincidence

The R1 Trigger only applies to Squall and Siefer, because of their Gunblades. Anything you lot have done is just coincidental, and nothing more.
