queston, does anyone know?

ok, i havent played x-2, but i read the full storyline, and i couldnt figure this out for sure. were Shuyin and Lenne suposed to be tidus and yuna, the way they would have existed 1000 years ago when tidus suposeably lived in zanarkand before we find out he's a dream in X? because Shuyin was a star blitzball player 1000 years ago in zanarkand, just like tidus was, and Lenne was a summoner like yuna, so is there any REAL conection between them?
