A Final Fantasy X RolePlay
A Final Fantasy X RolePlay
First of all, let me get a bit of seemingly useless, yet very crucial information. I'll organize it as bullets, because it looks neat that way.
*I have not roleplayed in about 3 years. My last roleplay was an almost 2 year long 1x1 on the Gaia website.
*I've only ever done 1x1 roleplays. I have no experience with group roleplays, so I'll take a few posts getting warmed up to the idea.
*I play one female character. I've found it hard to have more than one main character. I can play a limitless amount of minor characters.
Ok, now that that's out of the way, here's my plot idea.
(Please excuse the informal way I type this all out. It's easier for me. I promise I'm a bit more formal in my roleplays. If you have any questions about the plot, please address them in PM, and I will address the question with an answer in this first post.)
This roleplay will be set in Spira, but that's about the only resemblance it has to the game. You can choose to play as one of the canon FFX characters, but keep in mind that the story and some major plot points from the game will be changed for this RP.
Original characters are encouraged, but not required.

Imagine, a world completely free of Sin, Sinspawn and Fiends. Free of corruption, pain and sadness. Where the only fear one has is mearly from another human being, and not some impossibly powerful foe.
It's possible. No, I speak not of those brief moments of "Calm". I speak of eternal riddance of Sin.
The summon Holy Alexander was thought only a legend. Certainly a spirit so strong as to permanently rid the world of Sin wouldn't have stayed hidden for all these centuries. It was the stuff parents told their children as bedtime stories, as their parents had told them. Something to calm the nerve and instill a little confidence in the new day.
Little did the world know that Holy Alexander was real, and had been since the creation of Sin. It was almost a coexistance, except for the fact that Holy Alexander was nearly impossible to bring into true existance.
I'll breakaway for a bit and explain Summon Spirits in the roleplay.
Instead of a person sacrificing themself to create the Aeon, the summons are actually spirits that inhabit human bodies. It usually happens when the person is born, but can happen as old as the age of 3. Children who are chosen exibit an out of the ordinary physical trait, such as Ifrit having the eyes of flame, or Shiva having the eyes of ice (though it can be any number of things).
The children stay at the temple until their summoner arrives. The summoner will arrive at a temple and pray. If the spirit inside the chosen deems the summoner worthy, it will bestow upon him/her an artifact specific to them (example: Ixion's chosen could give the summoner a necklace with a small curved horn on it).
It's always temple/town specific. That is to say the spirit of Ifrit will only ever be in Kilika, while the spirit for Bahamut will only ever be in Bevelle. For the purpose of the RP, Anima will not exist, Yojimbo will be a wandering spirit, and the Magus Sisters will be forgotten spirits who rarely ever inhabit bodies.
A spirit can only choose one summoner. Most of the time, a summoner can only have control of one spirit, but it is not uncommon for more than one spirit to choose a specific summoner. This makes compitition amoungst the summoners a slight problem, as any summoner that is "jilted" (for lack of a better word) is usually bitter towards the chosen ones.
On the subject of the children chosen by the summon spirits. Once the child shows signs of being "possesed" (again, for lack of a better word), they are taken away from their parents, and raised in the temple of their city/town (most of the time the parents willingly take their children to the temple. In extremely rare cases the child is forecefully taken away). They are kept there until the summoner that the spirit inside them chooses shows up. The age of the child can vary anywhere from 14 upwards.
The personality of the child is not affected by the spirit. The spirit more or less lies dormant inside the child until it's summoner shows up. The child can show (and often does) a slightly better affinity for the magicks, but otherwise is perfectly normal until the summoner arrives.
Once the spirit bestows upon the summoner the artifact specific to them, the summoner has the power to actually summon the spirit forth. The actual process depends on the spirit, and can range anywhere from the spirit leaving the body to aid its summoner, to the spirit transforming the body of it's host to fit its need.
I realize I'm starting to ramble, so I'll wrap it up.
The spirit Holy Alexander is too powerful to posses a normal human. It instead creates an artificial life form to host itself in. It gives the "human" memories of a life that never really existed, a name and a home.
Holy Alexander will only choose a summoner of the purest soul and intentions, and only when the time is the most dire (which is why it has never come into existance, and is thought only a legend).
Rambleramblerambleramble. Any questions? I am quite aweful at writing summaries and stuff of the nature, so I'm sure I've confused someone.

RULES OF THE ROLEPLAY
1. Follow the rules of this forum.
2. No *action* in my RP. Type it out yo.
3. Use ((ooc)). I always use ((this)) whenever I'm about to log off or if something else important is happening.
~*~*~
OTHER IMPORTANT THINGS
My OC is the vessel for Holy Alexander, but she will not be overpowered. She's a strong willed girl, but in combat she's pretty useless.
We need at least 3 summoners and two other spirit hosts before we can properly start. We could also use guardians and other important civilians!
Again, any questions? Just PM me, and I'll address them here.
Next post is where I will post character bios.
