Help PS3 trouble on disk 4

i've been playing FFVIII (8) on my ps3 for a while now and i've just made it to disk four. the problem is whenever i insert disk 4 it says 'Caution! Wrong Disk!' and if i try to start the game from disk four at the PS3 main menu it displays the original PS logo and then it dissapears, and im left with a black screen which wont go on. I testing disk 4 on my old PS2 and it works fine (goes past the 'PS' logo screen), obvious problem is lack of memory card so i cant play my save and i dont want to start the whole game again on my PS2. Can anyone help?

Try cleaning the disk, it might not be reading it properly, this happened to me when I was playing FFVIII on my PS3, but with disk 2, and it stopped doing it after I cleaned the disk a bit.

although ive had VIII for a few years (even before the ps3 came out), disk 4 has been untouched as i never got that far in the game before. ive tried cleaning the disk but it still not working
