As some of you probably know, I'm sitting my first flurry of exams soon (6 days actually, check the sig). I decided to create this thread so that anyone in a similar situation can vent and talk about any particular things they may be stressing over.

You'll all probably hear from me soon enough :P

Good luck in your prelims, here well..... there arent any prelims, or mock exams, they tell you what will come in the exam, and you study for it, fail and retake the exam, fail 2 or 3 retakes and you fail the year and repeat the year.

Heh, I feel your pain. I started my Mock Exams two weeks ago, at least, I think it was two. They don't stop until December, but I don't take exams everyday [that would kill me xD]. I've taken my RS, we got the results back on Friday. I got an A* [A+]. I was so shocked xD, I thought I'd only manage a B. But, I'm proud of that =D. I've also taken my Geography paper, I think I could have done better with that but we'll see. The skills paper was hard =/. I'm dreading the results. My Media Studies exam was 3 hours long, I think I did quite well. The second half was designing an inside cover of a magazine, which was brilliant. Drawing, colouring and annotating is brilliant to get assessed on lemme tell ya =D.
PE I feel also went well, too well so I'm actually scared o_O. During the exam I was thinking; "This can't be it, this is not GCSE level." I'll eat my words when I get a C or something. I have loads left to go though, the ones I've done so far have been the subjects I'm good at.

I'm dreading Science :( Chemistry in particular. I yelled at my teacher the other day to finish explaining something and she refused. I learn nothing in that class -_- How am I meant to pass? :/

I finished Business Management and French last Thursday. Tomorrow is the beginning of History, General and Credit. I'm confident with that.

Biology, General and Credit, is on Tuesday. I'm not sure where I am with my Music exams, but they're soon and I have a drum kit piece that I haven't practiced o_O Whoops.

I am...quite annoyed. The mark scheme has changed in Religious Studies so it turns out I got an A, not an A* [A+]. How retarded is that? xD And what makes it worse is the fact that I was 1% off an A*, dyamn. *Becki is pissed* xD.
I'm yet to get other results back, I think they take -ages- to mark.

Riku - what is Credit and General? I've never heard of those before. Did Business Management go well? I take Business Studies so they're similar, sort of. I find the subject easy but how'd it go for you? And wow you're brave for taking French. I dropped that subject as soon as I could even though I got the highest mark in the class on a paper we did o_O.

There were French exams last week and a lot of people said the reading/listening was hard. Did it go well for you? :P

=D I get a week off this week. *Cheers* [Sorry Dave xD].

Lmao, sorry, I forgot English and Scottish schooling systems are different.

Well, 3rd year is the first year where you can chooses which subjects you want to study and these subjects span over 2 years, hence the final exams at the end of 4th year.

Access 3, Foundation (grades 5/6), General(grades 3/4), Credit,(grades 1/2), Intermediate (A-F) are the courses we study. It's all weird:

Access is like ... low :P
Foundation is the lowest section of the STANDARD GRADE course. A 6 is low, a 5 is higher, but still very low.
General is the middle section of the STANDARD GRADE course. a 4 is lower and a 3 is higher.
Credit is the top section of the STANDARD GRADE course. 2 is the lower and 1 is the highest possible grade, unless ....

In English, you can go onto Intermediate's 1/2. Intermediate 1 is the lower, but higher than the standard grade course. It's almost identical to the higher course that you do. However, in any other class, Intermediate is below Foundation, so euch.

I'm in all Credit classes and in Intermediate 2 for English - basically, in the highest possible classes for every subject :P

EDIT:
:w00t: Guess who got a one for his Maths? Boo-yah! Go me! I'm so happy, I was terrified that I would get bad results for maths. Now ... for the others =|

I think I get what you mean now :P. For some reason, I like learning about the different school systems o_O. Which makes me sound nerdy but oh well ~ xP.

Congratulations on the Maths ^_^ I only hope my re-sit result will be the same but I'm pretty certain that I failed xD. But I got a C before so I've passed, regardless, I'm not -too- worried.

I got my two Geography papers back during the past week. On the skills paper, I got a B, and on the actual exam paper, which was 1hr 30mins, I got a B also, just missed an A. I'm pleased with those results ^_^. I -should- get my PE results back tomorrow, which I feel wont be too bad, but we'll see :P.

This week ahead is the worst for exams.
Monday - Maths - Algebra - Paper 1 [Calculator allowed] - Higher Tier - 1hr 40 mins. Not looking forward to this in the slightest. :(
Tuesday - Business Studies - Mixed Tier - 1hr. I'll do just fine ^_^.

The rest of the week is filled with Bioliogy [=D], Physics [=I] and Chemistry [SHIT!]. So mixed feelings there, they're all 1hr 30mins. Also, I have two English papers, which I'm fairly confident on, although slightly uneasy. Basically, bad week ahead, I need some luck. =[.

Geeze. Your guys's tests are confusing.

I live in the USA and I just take the AIMS every year. And it's only in general subjects like Math, Reading, and english. And starting next year, Sceince. but I'm only in Jr. High, so it might chance once I hit High School. Rawr. ><

Im doing as levels this year in Physics maths chemistry and biology. I have 3 exams for each subject and 1 subjects exams all in 1 day {yay}. But to ease the stress i have a exam at january the 6th next year in biology and chemistry.
During my GCSEs i had a lot of exams in a short period of time. I had roughly 2-3 exams a day for 2 weeks straight . On the other hand i did get a 3 month holiday :)

Thanks Dave, I really appreciate that =]. Apparantly I got around 86% in my P.E theory paper which is quite shocking. I know I did well but that is quite high considering the amount you have to remember o_O. I -think- it's an A but I don't find out for sure until next week as I miss all my P.E theory lessons due to exams this week. -_-

I expect it will change and get harder when you hit High School, but I'm not American so I wouldn't know xD. No-one seems to understand the English School System let alone how are exams are done, so don't worry about it.

Johnny Mo - I'm guessing you're in college then. :P I think you're crazy taking AS levels in those subjects, but that's only because I can't get my head around half of them xDD.

2 papers tomorrow for me. English Paper 1, and Biology Science. Not too bad, I bet I get B's, I always do. Never seem to get that A dyamn v.v.
Oh, someone let off fart spray before our Business Studies exam, the smell nearly knocked me out. Certainly made things interesting though xD. I sailed through the paper, but ran out of time, although I don't think that will affect my grade much. Hopefully.

Ooh, not such good results now ...

French - I failed all credit aspects (as did the rest of the class) and received a 3 for my General Listening, a 4 for my General Reading.

I have not received Credit marks yet for my Business Management, but I got a 7 for my KU in General and a 4 in my DM (Decision Making) o_O That is APPAULING. I'm disgraced at myself.

Biology - 1 for the KU, 2 for the PS, so excellent, really :D

Chemistry - 2 KU, 2 PS - Excellent :D

Maths - 1 KU, 1 RE (Reasoning and Evalutation) - Ha-HA! I raped that exam.

Music - Just finished it yesterday, so no idea yet

English - Not marked yet

History - Not had a teacher yet :P

the letters stand for what? and how is a total of 2 in math considered 'raping it'?

Mocks are fairly piss easy IMO. I shouldn't worry about it too much

Just had a Drama Mock the other day.

I ahve exams in about 2 and a half weeks-3 weeks from now. No studying for me though.

The Prelims are actually more difficult than the final exams, or so we are told. Obviously it's different for individual regions, as we cleared up earlier, but all I know is I did bloody well :)

History - 7/2, so it goes on to the general mark, I got a 3/2, making it an overall 2.

Biology - 1/2/1 (third grade being practical abilites), so it's an overall 1. I was fairly chuffed at that ;)

Business Management - 2/1

those scores are a bit.....low...dontcha think? The 7 seems to be the best.

Congratulations Dave, overall you've done brilliantly. ^_^ I'm really pleased for you. *Draws in a deep breath* Ok, now it's my turn xD.

Biology: I think I did pretty well. I was so bummed though because we were only allowed to do Sections A, B and D, yet I looked at C anyway and it was much more easier. I really hope I've done my teacher proud though because I have so much respect for him. I'm a bit anooyed though because hormones went completely out of my head. Oestrogen is now made in the pirtuitary [spell check there] gland and not the ovaries xD. *Silly*

English Paper 1: I found this goddamn challenging and I really don't think I've done that well. The two sections were just completely...bleh. We had to read two extracts and answer these questions about them, which were worth too many marks than what you could write about. -_- The next bit was worth 27 marks. I mean, just...you can't write enough in the time allowed.

Then came...

Chemistry: Good God was I dreading this one. We haven't been taught -any- Chemistry -properly- But, surprisingly I got through it, and I don't think I did too badly o_O. Although saying that, I've probably done really bad now xD.

We got more time on our Business Studies exam. I managed to grab 8 more marks, the questions were so -easy.- I'm expected to get an A+ in that subject, lets hope I met that xD.

English Paper 2 was much better than the first. Again there were two sections and I think I got them done fairly well. Although, the second section was tough, even though it needn't be. We had to write about change and explain how we felt - I picked a hard time in my life >.>. Way to go, Becki. This girl fainted too o_O. I thought one of the moderators had made her fall off her chair but she had a fit on the floor :/. So uuh, yeah, the exam was interesting to say the least.

I missed my second Maths paper and Physics due to illness, so I'm done with exams now. All I gotta do is get my results =].
