Please Hlep Me Install Game

Hi im new here and ive just bought Final Fantasy VIII and i need some help installing the game as when i try to install it the Setup InstallShield only
goes up to 99% and after a few minutes it closes down and nothing happens, I have Windows XP with SP2 and any help sorting this out would be much appreciated Thank You

You need to download the XP Patch I think, VIII was only out on 98 I believe, if you look in the book you should find the online website for it, you can download the patch offa there, good luck matey

Yeah sorry but i dont know how to get the xp patch to work as i cant install the games as it doesnt get above 99% on the Installshiled before you start to install it

Just google "Final Fantasy 8 XP patch" or somethin similar. You need the patch to have everything set up to work right. You also have to have a similar patch to make FF7 work on XP. Most sites provide instructions on how to install the patch also.
