I am applying for a job in Photography at a local studio that is owned by a friend's uncle. I have no formal education, and I am entirely self-taught. Though, I an efficient in Paint Shop Pro, Photoshop 7, CS, CS3, and Lightroom.

So, I'd like to show you all my photography and other artwork, and see if you guys approve.

The work on here spans from when I was 15 years old using a crappy 3.0 megapixel digital camera, to now, at 18, using a Canon dSLR.

That gallery has a lot of the previous, plus a lot more artwork and cosplay work. More Final Fantasy goodies there.

Hope you all enjoy it.

To be honest I've always thought with photography that its a thing you can either naturally adapt to or you can't and the very best photos are from the self-taught people such as yourself. You clearly have a basic instict for photography and with the photos shown you have clearly aced it ^_^
Its nice to see professional photography of people for a change, I have a friend who does landscapes and sells them on his site but though they are very good for his age (15) landscapes don't particulary interest me whereas yours do.

Extremely good work, keep it up and all the best at the local studio. ^_^

Art in general doesn't necessarily require training or schooling. I took several years of Photography personally.

Whoa, lots of modeling. I'd say your photography is solid. For the most part, you arrange the subject matter in a way that's interesting to the viewer. Your photographs are strong compositionally (again, for the most part). You use lighting effectively as well. Some of those look professional, in my opinion.

Good stuff! *thumbs up*

Thank you very much, though, I don't consider myself anywhere near Professional, all of my work is just be messing around and experimenting.

I love to photograph beauty, or emotion, or messages, and I can only do that with people, so, they're what I like to photograph. Landscapes are rarely ever compelling, but humans can be, very much so.

All of the people taken with a black backdrop were people that I grabbed from my class and asked if they wanted their photos taken, obvious answers were yes. xD All of the others are friends.

I'm glad that you approve of the lighting, because it's entirely homemade. I bought desk-lamps, and peeled off the fabric for the shade, and taped on colored binder dividers, so, I could turn the lamp, and the light would shine a different color on the subject. I'd also drag in some other classmates to hold the lamps up, or hold more binder dividers over the lights. XD! Should have seen the look on my teacher's face when she walks into her broom closet and sees this makeshift studio I threw together.

I'm hoping that my chances are good, I know I'm somewhat good with a camera, now I just have to hope that they see me as having the potential to be professional, not just edgy.

Thanks, btw. ;D

Those are really good!! Keep it up!! I'm sure you have the potential for pro. Photography to me is a means of art. You have to make them your own in way. It seems that you have a firm grasp of that in most of your pics. Others just look like random pics that one might take while at a function or holiday. But some of them you really express different emotions and texture to equal that. For some this is hard. But you seem to have a eye for it.

And the FF pics are great. I lol at some of them.... I want the Barrett gun!!

Thanks a lot. ^^; I see photography as a form of expression as well, and I just try to show my subjects as vividly as I can.

As for Barret's gun...that thing was HEAVY. It weighed 40 pounds. But, it was awesomely bad ass.
