I'm just wondering what you guys would consider a perfect game, FF7 is easy to perfect but I've played through FF6 about 4-5 times and I've always been unhappy with my finished game... I realize I can't get ragnarock as a sword and summon, and there's other things that always piss me off. I can't stand the lores and rages but, I'd love to perfect them. What I'm posting this for is I'd really like your advice and help on how to play the best possible FF6 game you can, I'm not interested in perfect stats or low level game, but I would like to get evertyhing missable I can.

What are some things that help you with this goal? What are things not to do, what is something that can be easily overlooked? Basically what I wanna do is make this thread to help walk everyone through this game and give everyones bvest advice on how to perfect this game as best they can. Its easily one of the best FF's and I have to master this game before I can start FF7 again.

Well one of the best things to teach people is that you should try for best stats. So here is my information on it that I have got. When you first get espers you should always make sure when a character is about to level up that he/she has a stat increasing esper on. If you want to learn spells fast and gain rages the vedlt offers all the rages and no EXP. You get AP so you can learn all the spells for each character if you do try for all the rages.

Another thing about the lores are that some of them are missable so you can easily get a faq for that. You will be able to find each monster that has a lore.

What I did to help master my game, I kept everyone a low level until I had a decent amount of Espers. Doing this, my Edgar had a vigor of 143 at lvl 23 (this one was on the GBA version though) and Terra's magic was taking about 9999 way before I even got to the end of the game (she was so strong, she could be on a team by herself -- which I often did lol). But you said you aren't interested in states, so I'll move onto the Rage bit.

When I first get Gau, I do not move off the area until I have collected rage skills from all the monsters there (or every single one I can recall and actually do at that point). Once you get the airship and can freely control it (before second part of the game) go around and collect more rage skills. I make sure that I stick to one place until I finish the entire list of rage skills that one landmass/area has to offer.

There are so many good rage skills too, and if you learn a decent amount by the time you get to the Narshe battle, you can have Gau on a team of two, which I usually pair him with Cyan or Sabin. He's actually pretty strong, so I make sure to keep him at his best.

I always found collecting the Lore skills to be a bit long, and I usually forget some of his lores. Sometimes when I'm replaying and that happens, I just use a guide to find some places I haven't gone to.
