Recently my girlfriend has gone to university. Don't get me wrong, I couldn't be happier for her, but sometimes I find it really hard to deal with.
I think my biggest problem is that I don't trust people that I don't know, and why should I?
I trust her but there is always that little feeling of uncertainty that eats away at you; people can be very influential and persuading.

Have other people had a boyfriend or girlfriend that has gone to university/college? If so, did you feel the same way I do and how did you deal with that?
Feeling this way can get very frustrating and leads to little petty arguements that we never used to have, and I hate that.
I'm not sure if this is a common problem or not, but I have sympathy for whoever experiences it; it makes you feel very lonely.

No, I was the same when my ex went a year before I did. I didnt trust any of the people in his halls, then I met them and got chatting to them. Some were lovely and had partners of their own, so I seen them as no threat. Although there was a complete and utter tart who basically shagged anything that moved and he was best mates with her. I didnt trust her as far as I could throw her.

Just befriend some of the girls in her halls and ask if they can look after her while you arent around. Just keep in contact with her and let her know that you do trust her. It can cause arguements, but it shows you care for her and dont want her to go anywhere.

Good luck.

I feel the same way as you do, although my girlfriend isn't away to uni yet. Thats still to come..i dont trust alot of people, especially people i dont know. I'm sure if you keep your relationship healthy then everything should be fine :).
