Okay, so this challenge is open to anyone. I'm gonna use my character Degra, who's bio can be found... HERE
__________________________________________________________________

Degra was hurtling across the plains at tremendous speed, matching speeds of up to 60kph. She had been running for over an hour now, but still not tiring even the slightest. Most tigers can't maintain this kind of speed for more than a few minutes, but Degra was no normal tiger. She was of the Khan; a once proud and mighty race, but their war-like nature and the destructive force of humans, vampires and those born of the 'Asura' inevitably led to their near-extinction.

This Khan does not know of any other of her kind, but she is content that way. Her immortality is a gift to her, and she has been truly fascinated in how the world changes. Of course, there are some things about her that have never changed. Her contempt towards humans, despite any interaction she has had with them, and her hatred of vampires and the Asura-spawn. She relishes any opportunity she can get to slay a blood-sucker or a demon. But for today, she has decided to travel elsewhere, to see what else this world has to offer for her.

The sun was beating down heavilly, but Degra enjoyed the sun, particularly in the afternoon when it was at its highest. She could spend hours happily basking in it, though she was getting thirsty. Degra decided to head west, towards the forest bordering the vast fields she was traversing. There would be water there.

Upon reaching this forest, Degra slowed down to a trot. As she picked her way through the trees and bushes, her form began to change. She grew much larger, turning into a gigantic sabre-toothed tiger before rearing up on her hind legs and taking on a more human-like form. She then grew smaller, her tail shrinking into a small stump before disappearing altogether. Her fur shortened and on her head, it was replaced by the long brown hair of a woman. Her face contorted, her jaws growing more narrow, cheekbones more prominent, nose becoming more slanted and pointy and her eyes taking on a less brighter shade of yellow. She now looked like any normal human, but armed with a pair of axes which hung on each hip from her belt.

Several other pouches hung from her belt, most of which were empty, but she reached into one of them to fish out a peice of cooked meat; remnants from her last hunt and her last meal. It was cold, but still tasted good, and was nourishing. It wasn't long before she came across a stream and she knelt down to drink her fill. The water was cool and refreshing. She then unhooked two water pouches from her belt and filled them up to keep her going when she sets off again.

Not sensing any real danger in the immediate area, Degra decided to strip off her clothes and slip into the stream. The cold made her shiver, but her body soon became numb to that, and she submerged herself right up to her neck so she could wash off the dirt and grime that had accumulated during her journey. She then proceeded to rinse her hair and then lay on the bank in a nice patch of sun to dry off.

The woodland was beautiful; alive with the chittering of birds, distant howling from far-away monkeys, the trickling of water, the gentle breeze and... Degra's ears twitched. Footsteps. She sniffed the air, a habbit born of spending too much time in her other forms. But her keen sense of smell indicated something that wasn't quite natural to the environment. She quickly dressed, and made sure her axes came free of their hooks easilly enough.

Looking around, she tried to pinpoint the location of this scent, wondering whether this was a friend or a foe who had entered the vicinity.

OOC Note: The part of the forest my character is at resembles THIS place. Only, there's a lot more sunlight spilling in through the trees. Much of the forest consists of rather dense foliage, but with a scattering of more open areas, littered with the ocassional fallen tree or some rock formations. The stream is more or less like that in the photo, but keep in mind that it's slippery and treacherous. For the most part its quite shallow, barely reaching up to Degra's knees, but there are parts that are quite deep, that reach up to her chest. It's difficult to tell sometimes whether the water is shallow or deep, and the current is fast-flowing.

The forest is much longer than it is wide. Distance covers several miles from north to south, but from east to west it is 100 meters at its narrowest point and 500 meters at its widest. To the east of the forest are the vast fields that Degra had been traversing, but to the west the forest stops suddenly at a large cliff-face with a 40 meter drop. The stream where Degra is located leads to a gigantic waterfall that spills over these cliffs.

I would like to finish this by saying good luck to whoever takes on this challenge, and let's make this a good one. :)

Cheers!

OOC:So I decided to take up the challenge because why the hell not. If you've seen some of what I've done, you know this isn't the worst I could've chosen but it's one of my most enjoyable.

Name: Alexander Hartke

Age: 20

Appearance: A thin young man, Alexander has very little muscle mass but he is an excellent runner and probably gymnast if he had applied himself that way. The most noticeable thing about him in the scarf he almost always seems to be wearing. Ragged at the ends, it is incredibly light and flutters in almost any breeze. He normally dresses in loose jeans and a loose long sleeve shirt with a short sleeve one over the top. Underneath his scarf, on a leather cord around his neck, is his significator card, the Wheel of Fortune.

His hair is a sandy blonde that hangs over his green eyes, giving him the illusion of hiding. He is of average height, only being 5’10”.

tarotepicenter.png

Weapon: Tarot cards

Personality: The shy, quiet type, Alexander hates violence, going out of his way to avoid it even at the expense of others. In fact he hates most people, preferring nature to anything else. You would be more likely to see him walking in the forests than on the sidewalk. He has a way with animals, most being friendly when they interact with him and some trusting him instantly.

His lack of social interaction with people has led him to be closed off to others, often ignoring them completely. Though this attitude has led to confrontation, he always gets off without any consequence. On the rare occasions he does talk with people, he speaks with a calm voice with a tone of dismissal and impatience. With animals though, it’s a friendly voice with a smile.

Outside of the forest, people often see him with his tarot cards in a spread before him. Though he can read them for people and does if someone asks him to, he rarely gets the question. His personal set in always in his right hand pocket. The cards are very important to him as he never does anything major without first consulting them. He has a knack for identifying other peoples’ significators and for reading them of course.

Abilities:

Arcana Force: Manifests the power of tarot cards. Most of their effects are unique, varying from attack, defense and utility. Some even have multiple uses. Aces manifest the suit as a weapon. The court cards summon the card to attack or defend Alexander as long as another card from that deck is not drawn.

However, he can create readings for people from one deck. The spread he uses determines the number of cards drawn. They can react on their own if the card itself has a property pertaining to the action or he can reveal them as he desires. When placed in a spread the cards will take the design of the spread in the air before him.

Additionally, when a card(s) is drawn Alexander is surrounded by a temporary shield that blocks incoming damage for 4 seconds. It's not long but long enough for someone of his caliber to understand what the cards are telling him. Even for him though, there are still unusual things that only become clear after the fact.

Natural Affinity: Animals will befriend him though they may be apprehensive of others. If Alexander is nearby, animals will be more docile (20 ft radius). Plants also seem to be more friendly to him as he never trips over roots and when he’s being pursued, the undergrowth tends to ensnare his followers.

History: His hatred of people doesn’t stem from his family’s lack of wealth or the fact that he is stuck at the local zoo cleaning the cages of the trash people throw but because people are almost invariably worthless. Born to a lower class family outside the city, he never really had that much growing up. In fact, to do anything at all he had to work for it, though often it was never balanced. Still, he got what he wanted, which was never much. What are perhaps his most prized possessions are his scarf, the only clothing that isn’t a hand-me down, and his tarot deck, worn as it may be around the edges.

Picked on by the kids for wearing the thread-bare hand-me-downs of his older brother through elementary and middle school, he developed a quiet personality, often disappearing to read a book when he could or choosing to sit in the back of the class. It was in these tender years that he came to his world view that people were worthless trash that should have died out long ago. Once he changed to high school though, things started evening out.

While he had sat in the library and read books, the others had sat at tables with those silly paper fortune tellers or had run around outside like idiots screaming their heads off. He wasn’t really surprised when his peers began failing their classes while he was going ahead by leaps and bounds, no longer held by the same standard as “the class.”

Remarkably bright for his age, he ended up going into the AP classes and succeeding there as well. Despite the promises of scholarships and grants for college, Alexander found himself short when he was walking across the stage at his graduation with the few from his class that had made it with him.

He settled in at his parent’s, taking the beaten up car he had bought from a friend into the city for work. As it is, he works at the zoo, cleaning up the trash that people leave behind in the cages. He has heard rumors from the higher-ups that his skill with the animals is going to put him on the fast-track to running the zoo though he doubts that.

Going through the garbage on his first day, he found the Wheel of Fortune card, carefully placed against the gorilla cage, like it was meant for him to see. Over the next few weeks, it seemed like more and more things began to crop up in the trash as he cleaned out the cages. In the tiger cage he found a beaten but still serviceable iPod shuffle with the words “Every end is a beginning” engraved on it. In the hippopotamus enclosure was a crumpled Benjamin hidden in a cup.

He always wondered what it meant and suspected that the card had something to do with it. He went out and bought his own set, trying to figure it all out. Was it luck or destiny? He spent the next year trying to figure it out. With no clear answer, he left it to the cards to decide, laying them out to see what would happen.

Now, he no longer goes on instinct alone. With a way to divine the direction to go, he consults the cards at each major turn.

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________

It wasn't the first time that Alexander had been to this state park, nor would it be the last. He came here almost every weekend though he tried his best to not take a trail he had recently traveled. He never spent the night at any of the campsites either, preferring to simply hike some of the shorter trails and loops.

Even if he weren't there for the night, he never neglected to bring a small backpack with supplies. He had often come here when he had had a horrendous week and simply walk as much as he could in a day and that usually meant he missed at least two meals. It wasn't much, usually just enough to keep him going: a decent size bag of trail mix, a bag of beef jerky, maybe a few hard candies or peppermints, and about 5 litres of water in 3 bottles. Aside from that he made sure he was ready with a raincoat and flashlight in case a storm came or night felt earlier than he expected, a number of water purification tablets, a decent pocket knife, a roll of toilet tissue, and a small bottle of hand sanitizer. It was all only about 10 pounds and they had all been selected after mishaps or basic precautions; his brother's fight with poison ivy on his arse had not yet been forgotten by his family.

He had already been hiking for a good 3 hours. It felt good to be back on the Naturia trail - it was always the most scenic one and had a number of beautiful flowers that grew naturally to the sides. It was a Thursday and he had only encountered one other person and they were hiking out, the poles for a tent obvious in their bag. He sighed as he saw the second waterfall on the trail come into view, resting a hand against the elm tree that stood tall in that bend.

The rough bark felt good against his fingers, almost soft even, as though the tree itself was just another animal. Overhead there was a rustling as a squirrel popped out from a hole and peered down to look as Alexander. The young man merely smiled and pressed on, his Converses seeming to not make a single mark on the trail.

This waterfall was always his favorite for the four on this trail. Three-tiered, there was a trail of rocks that crossed tot he middle where a large rock sat. Alexander had had all of his lunches there since he started hiking this trail and he wasn't about to break what had become tradition.

He started down the small side trail that led to the riverside when a fierce wind blew overhead. A loud crack sounded out and Alexander jumped back, dodging the large tree branch that fell. He could see from the broken side that it was a long dead limb; all it had needed was enough of a push to break it.

Making his way around,he failed to notice the subtle shift in the foliage as he continued down the path. When he got to the riverside, he noticed that the rock he had been heading to was no longer there, instead replaced by a set of five that looked a lot like a lotus blossom. He looked around furtively, trying to place where he was. By habit he reached down to feel his right pocket. His cards were still there but he felt something else, something he hadn't felt in a long time.

Looking down, his face twisted into a look of fear as he saw that strapped to both of his thighs were the same boxes that he had had to fight with in that blasted maze. As if to confirm it, the black butterfly that had always followed him around then alighted on his shoulder and gave him a strange, knowing look. Frantically, he reached up underneath his shirts and felt his chest, hoping that that feared bolt would be nonexistant. When he couldn't find it he began to panic and quickly felt over the rest of his body. It was only when he had checked over every inch and crevice as best he could that he felt any relief at all - he wasn't back in that damned game.

Reaching out, he steadied himself against the closest tree, a sturdy oak that was much older than he was. His breath was short and rapid; it took some time to calm himself down to a normal breathing pace but even then his eyes kept shifting, looking all around him. Unconsciously he began to twirl the Wheel of Fortune around his neck as he took a few tentative steps forward.

"Someone's there..."

Alexander spun around, wondering where the voice had come from but only the side of the oak tree before him stared back.

"She knows you're here..."

He spun again but saw only more trees guarding the riverside.

"Who?" he whispered, afraid of what might be answering.

"The girl from the river..." was the rustled reply that vanished upon the wind.

He backed up, his back pressing against the bark of the oak tree, his fingers holding to the bark as though it were a lifeline.

"She's dangerous, that one. Be careful..."

This one was ancient and deep and close to Alexander, far too close. He slowly turned his head and looked behind him and around the tree."

"Close, seedling..."

Alexander's eyes widened and he looked at the tree he was holding onto.

"There you go..."

The young man's eyes widened in surprise and he was tempted to run but there was a pervasive calm to the area; maybe a tense calm but calm nonetheless.

"She hasn't done anything yet but be wary, seedling..."

Alexander looked back out towards the river, most of it hidden behind leaves.

"Hello?" he called out tentatively. "Is anyone there?"

His heart pounded in his chest with fear - the last time this had all happened, the first person he found wanted to kill him.

Ah, didn't realise you edited your post! Right, here goes. :monster:
_____________________________________________________________

Any chance of this new comer ambushing Degra immediately vanished when a male voice called out; "Hello? Is anybody there?"

It did somewhat take Degra aback, as usually people had a tendancy to try and get the upper hand by a suprise attack. This person willingly gave his location away willingly and apparently without caution as to who or what may be in the area. The Weretiger didn't know whether that was down to foolishness, courage, or even as a call for help. Normally Degra would ignore it, but there was something else. She couldn't pick up on it; there was no sound or scent, nor could she see it, but it was something...

Stepping through the foliage, she sighted a young man. He looked rather unusual; at least, he dressed rather unusually. He wasn't dressed the least bit suitably for this environment. Nothing to hide him from the elements, and those shoes... They looked about ready to fall to pieces.

He seemed lost, but at the same time it was as if something had been guiding him. That 'something' sent shivers down Degra's spine. It gave her the same feeling as when fighting a vampire or a demon. It was the feeling that came from beings who meddled with powers that are best left to be. She wondered whether this young man... little more than a cub compared to herself, knew what he was meddling with. She didn't like it either way, and planned on putting a stop to it one way or another.

She removed one of her axes from its hook and familiarised herself with its weight and shape. The blade was well sharpened, and it glinted in the sunlight. She approached the mancub, a steely look on her face. "What are you doing here, cub?" she asked boldly with a hint of anger. "And what is it that brought you here?"

IC:

Eile was sore. The reason being that she was lying on her stomach in a large area of tall grass within the wood with her sniper scythe out for quite some time. Her clothing helped conceal him in the grass line. Keeping her sights on the treeline, Eile saw two people come out. The first one was a guy dressed in an attire not suited for the forest. Something about him stood out beside his clothing. Like something spiritual was leading the guy to that location. The second person is a girl with a tan complexion. Even from looking at her, Eile noticed that something was off on her. It was as if she was not at ease with herself. Regardless, she pulled out an axe and started to talk to the man. Most likely in anger if Eile can tell from her scoped position.

Decided to take action, Eile aligned her shot with the woman's head, ready to fire if she did something that would interfere with Eile's well being.

"Which one of you is going to run first?" Eile whispered keeping an eye on both of the people there.

OOC: Hm. Probably woulda been better asking to take part in this, dude. I mean, I'm game for having this be more than a one on one, so long as Gavin is up for it. I know that Ness was wanting to accept also, but Gavin beat him to it. :monster: If Gavin is up for this being more of a massive rumble, then it's cool. If not, then it's gonna have to be one on one for this bout I'm afraid. I'm happy to battle if you wish to set something else up in a seperate thread, mind!

OOC: Well given how Alexander's abilities work, to make it more of a fair fight I would have to make Arcana Force multi-target based on the card itself, modify his natural affinity to effectively summon animals and plants, or create readings on people as an attack form and uses the cards drawn to attack (ie drawing five and interpreting them how he see them and basically having options rather than just one at a time). Other than a bit of retooling for multi-man fights (He's totally not meant for them) I've no problem with making it a multi-match.

OOC: Yeah, that's cool. In that case, we'll have to stick to specific turns for this. Gavin will be next, then myself, and then Levont, and so on. That way no one will get pushed out. Let me know when you've made the mods to your bio, and then I'll whack them into the first post and then if you guys don't mind editing them out of your previous posts once I've put the bios in the first post so as not to interrupt all the battle text that would be fantastic. :monster:

If Ness would like to join, now would be a good time!

OOC: Alright, I've gone ahead and edited it so I'm good to go.

IC: As the woman stepped out of the brush, Alexander sized her up instantly. She appeared human but at this point that could easily be thrown out the window. Her clothes were...a chronomaly to him - they existed in his time frame only as a history lesson. The axe in her hand and the matching one in her belt gave the impression of savagery, or at least uncouth behaviour. His eyes narrowed slightly towards her - he had no love for other humans but until the waters had been tested, restraint would be best.

"It would appear I 'walked three steps in the right direction.' I had been about to have some time alone on the river but I seem to have walked into a different place or even world. I don't suppose you could tell me where this is?"

He had stopped twirling the tarot card at his neck and instead his hand were now on the edges of his pockets. Non-threatening but close enough to the decks on his thighs that he could draw them if need be. He hoped it wouldn't come to that - he really did. It brought back back memories - memories of him having to kill people as a game. The ground crunched softly beneath his feet as he shifted his weight. Running wouldn't be a bad idea either - it would give him a chance to do a reading rather than a single card.

Degra tensed when the human explained how he got here. It would seem that he somehow found a way to cross over into a different dimension. Whether it was intentional or not, this was a power that should not be in the hands of anyone, let alone a human pup. But how could he possess such power? Surely it must be channeled from elsewhere? Maybe some greater power was at work here? This whole mess reeked of 'Faerie', and it was making Degra's blood boil. She examined him intently, particularly making note of the card he was twirling in his hand.

The human asked her where he was, but she thought it would simply be better to get this done with. She noticed the human shift his weight, most likely anticipating some sort of attack. Oh well, Degra wasn't the sort to launch some petty suprise attack in any case. She had too much pride to make use of such tactics.

So she immediately launched herself towards the man, closing the distance between them in a matter of seconds seeing as they weren't far away. She growled as she swung her axe horizontally from left to right, aiming for his chest with every intention of killing him.

If this man really was in allegiance, or even being used as a vessel by the Faerie, then she felt obligated to destroy him. No doubt it would require more power, so as she swung her axe she began her transformation. Growing several inches in both height and muscle mass, a thin layer of orange and black fur spreading all over her body, it immediately became apparent that she was not human. Her eyes gleamed a bright yellow and her teeth sharpened into fangs. The transformation into her 'Sokto' form took mere seconds, and she already felt far more fast and powerful than in her human form, which she found to be very restraining.

OOC: Incase you're getting a bit confused with any terms my character uses, such as Faerie and Asura, etc. it may be worth while reading up a tiny bit on The World of Darkness, as my character is based from those Roleplaying Books. In WoD, the Faerie aren't all magical and friendly little pixies. They take on any shape, form and they vary in how powerful they are. They're controlling, and often abduct humans to use as slaves, or as a means of channeling their powers in the mortal world as 'Changelings'. In Degra's world, it is usually them who grant various powers or "Pacts" as they're referred to in WoD, which is why she is assuming your character is either in allegiance to them, or atleast being used by them. Not that I'm saying that is the case, but that's how Degra sees it. :)

Levont Fon Lavin: I made Degra remain mostly unaware of your character's presence, as she is currently more focused on Alexander.

The silence was deafening as Eile watch both of them speak for a bit. She didn't know what was said, but what is supposedly said put the man a bit on edge. It was then she saw the woman charge at the man and change shape. It was interesting to say the least as human features shifted and moved to positions not normal to other living beings. She panned over quickly to the man and saw his hands on a deck of cards. The sniper frowned as she realigned with the now more feral lady.

"Say goodnight." Eile whispered as she took her shot.

The 50 caliber rang out like a pickaxe hitting steel next to a mic connected to a loud speaker as Eile looked at the lady to see if the bullet hit or not.

He had already made his choice: the instant she started moving he launched himself to the side, pushing off the tree with both hands and feet. As he did, a loud snap rung out and a limb fell from above in front of where he had been standing.

"Well at least it was a dead one..." came the rustling voice he now understood to be that of the trees around him.

He sprinted off, his feet pounding the ground. This one wanted to kill him; he had no clue why. It was the same as when he was fighting for his life before - only this time, he was sure there was no option to surrender. As he ran, he drew the card from his left hand deck, not even bothering to look at it. Instead he took the chance to look back just in time to see her morph into some sort of human-tiger hybrid.

That momentary lapse in forward vision made him pitch forward as his foot missed where he thought the ground was. He stumbled as he hit it, about a foot below where it had been. Rolling as he hit the ground he made about two rounds before he twisted and came to a sitting position. Finally he glanced at the card in his hand and saw the Ace of Pentacles staring up at him, the strange black butterfly he still had no clue about sitting in the center of the arcane symbol. The card seemed to melt, the silver liquid trickling onto his fingers and seeping into his skin. The silvery liquid was just under the flesh and it was moving, forming into the same pentacle ont he card. When it completed, its flared into black and Alexander stifled a cry of pain as the liquid seemed to burn itself into the palm of his hand like it always did when pulled the card.

"At least now I have a weapon..." he muttered, clenching his fist.

"There's another here..."

"Another one of...her?" he asked - he didn't know if he could take on two of her.

"Another...like you..."

The man had managed to evade Degra's first attack, but that was to be expected. Upon completing her transformation, the man had retreated, reaching into a case mounted on his thigh and drawing out a card. It immediately became apparent that this was where he channeled his powers, as the card mysteriously melted into his arm. She couldn't make out exactly what was happening, and she was about to follow on with another barrage of attacks, but a sudden, sharp pain spiked down her arm. A resounding 'Bang' followed less than a second later.

Degra snarled, glancing briefly at her shoulder, noticing that a small nick had appeared. It wasn't deep enough to cause any serious damage, but it still drew blood. She shot a quick look towards the human male, noting his position. Did this man have a companion with him who had somehow manage to get by unnoticed? She cursed herself for allowing herself to be so distracted to the point she was oblivious of anything else.

She had managed to pinpoint the location of the other being, and decided to draw it out into the open while the human was busy working whatever 'magic' he had at his disposal. It might not be the smartest of moves, leaving him this kind of opportunity, but given the sudden change of circumstances, Degra would rather have the human and her hidden assailant where she could see them. Her quick relfexes meant that it took a whole of five seconds after the suprise attack for her to reach this decision, and she immediately leapt in the direction of this hidden assailant, drawing out her other axe while cleaving through the hedges with the other. Following on from this movement in a swift, fluid motion, she brought her other axe in a downwards strike without even stopping to find out who it was.

However, upon sweeping the brush aside, she saw that it was yet another human; this one a young female. This barely even registered to Degra as she brought her axe crashing down towards the female's head with enough force to split her skull. Being prepared for another projectile to be fired upon her, should her strike miss, Degra allowed her momentum to carry her forwards, tucking her arms and legs in and making a forwards roll. She came back up behind the female, slashing horizontally with one axe while holding the other in defense. All the while, she kept note of the human male's position, preparing to defend herself from another attack.

"That missed?" Eile wondered as the tiger like lady stopped in her tracks to look at her wound. It looked like a shoulder graze from what Eile could see. The tiger lady turned toward her direction and started to run toward her.

"Great." Eile muttered as she rolled to the side, barely avoiding an axe strike.

Springing up to her feet and turning toward the tiger lady, Eile pulled out three green vials and injected it into herself. The green vials turned blue, letting Eile know that the skills she had in her has been extracted and replaced with the new skills.

(OOC: traded out the wire skills and enchanced First aid with the scythe skills.)

'Time to put the Sniper Scythe to it's full potential.' Eile thought as the Sniper Rifle reshaped itself into a scythe with a gun enhancement.

The tiger lady was coming back for a follow up strike as Eile smiled noticing the second axe kept in a defensive position. Eile glowed a bit as a blue energy shield appeared in front of her, taking the hit for her as she swung at the tiger lady, preparing to fire a bullet if the attack hit to increase the cutting damage she would have done.

OOC: He didn't fish out the cards, they're in cases on his thighs - think Naruto but sleeker and card shaped.

The shot rang out and there was a collective fluttering as birds took flight, hoping to flee the loud noise. Alexander winced at the sound; surely this tiger-woman wasn't fast enough to break the sound barrier. The tree had said there was another though, did they mean human? It could of been her if she had some sort of gun or a sonic device of some sort.

He stood up quickly and looked behind him. The tiger woman had just swiped back a growth of brush to reveal a girl - a human girl. Without hesitation, the tiger woman swung her axe down and barely missed connecting the hit. The girl did something and the rifle he just now noticed in her hands turned into a scythe. Obviously she wasn't his enemy yet and the tiger woman was indiscriminate in her attacks so there was no love between them. Luckily for him, their attention was turned away from him.

Taking a few steps backward, he felt a tree behind him. It was large and he would easily be able to hide behind it. He darted behind it and exhaled the breath he didn't know he had been holding. Here was a moment to breathe and assess the situation. With practiced ease, he picked up 10 cards from the top of his right-hand deck and threw them out before him. They flew fast and true a few feet before him before spreading out, held by mystical means in the layout of the Celtic Cross reading. This would answer the question that burned in his mind. As if in response to the silent question, the eyes of the butterflies on the cards twinkled as they revealed themselves.

"So that's what this is all about..." he murmured.

The cards would be revealed in time to the tiger woman as necessary but if his interpretation was correct, and it almost certainly was, then not only would he have to fight, but it would be a long while before it ended. Hesitantly, he twirled the card at his neck. His was always the most powerful and his luck far more than his fair share. But it was random. There was no interpretation when his own Wheel was invoked - it was a whim of Fate, what would happen. He peered around the trunk anxiously to observe what was happening. He didn't want to have to fight again, he had had enough of that.

OOC: Fixed it. Never watched Naruto, but I get the gist of what you're getting at. :D I tend not to study other people's character bios, as I find I can RP more realistically when I'm in the same mindset as my character, not really knowing what I'm up against. :P

Degra bared her teeth in a vicious snarl as the female rolled aside, avoiding her initial attack. Her eyes darted to the side, following her target as she redirected her following attack. In the time it took Degra to change her tactics, the female had managed to inject herself with some sort of substance and then proceed to re-shape her weapon, turning it into a large scythe.

As she aimed her second blow, the female had drawn up a barrier of sorts that managed to deflect the blow. The impact sent a jolt up Degra's arm, but she grasped her axe tightly nontheless, refusing to lose it on the recoil. The female took the opportunity to launch a counter attack, swinging her scythe at Degra. Degra managed to duck in time, the air whistling as it passed inches above her head.

Degra lashed outwards with her leg, turning in a swift arc, aiming to trip her opponent. The movement was swift and precise, and would hopefully buy her a few second's of time. She retreated further, to buy a little bit more time. Upon doing so, she glanced to where the other human was. He had thrown out several more cards, which he had not doubtedly drawn from one of those cases on his thighs. They spread outwards, seemingly guided by some invisible force. Degra wasn't happy to have been interrupted by the human female, as she had intended on having this man killed by now.

Coming up with a fresh tactic, she decided to hurl one of her axes towards the man. She was hoping to disrupt, or atleast pre-emptively activate whatever witchery he was intending on employing in this battle. Regardless, she decided to go ahead and play her next move. She bared her teeth before rearing her head and bellowing out a deafening roar. Once more, she grew even taller, her muscles looking as though they were ready to burst through her skin. Her fur grew thicker, replacing her clothing as almost everything seemingly human about her disappeared altogether.

Standing at seven and a half foot, she was in her Crinos form. Her true Weretiger form, representing the Kahn elite. She still grasped her remaining axe in a tight grip, but it now looked like a mere toy in her hand. Deciding to up the ante further, she called upon the spirit of fire. Imbuing both axes with the power of flame, and igniting them as such. The flames were mere warmth in Degra's hand, but to her opponents it should prove to be more devastating.

OOC: Note that both axes are now covered in flames, even though Degra only has one of them in her hands.

The attack missed it's target as Eile was tripped by the tiger lady's leg as she fell on her back. Eile quickly rolled away from the wolf lady and pulled out another vial, injected the skill while replacing one skill she had flowing inside her. She then saw the wolf lady toss an axe to a random area. Eile followed the axe and saw the man there. She quickly jumped away from both of the people. It was then that she saw the tiger lady change again. This time she was taller and more feral as her axe suddenly shined with fire.

"This is interesting." Eile muttered keeping an eye on both of the fighter while getting into a ready stance to either strike of evade.

The way it was going, it was going to be a mexican stand off.

OOC: I could've sworn I mentioned that in my first post that they were there. Oh well.

Alexander was still under cover from the tree, he could have easily ducked back behind it - it was sturdy enough that it could take it. When the axe caught fire without warning though, he knew that wouldn't be an option; the tree he hid behind sent out such waves of fear that he didn't just sense it, he felt it to his core.

He stepped out from behind the tree and the conviction shone in his eyes, amplifying the mystic glow that resided there every time he drew a card. The cards appeared in front of him, their black borders shimmering into being as the Celtic Cross stood like a shield. The left-most card shone brilliantly and the axe was batted away like an insect by the blade that swung out from the card.

As though it were a portal, a young man stepped through, the blade in his hand, a silvery sheen to the almost obscenely long blade. The knight stood tall, his studded leather armour a glistening black that contrasted the blond hair that fell to the spaulders on his shoulders. His own appearance was more than expected from humans from the chiseled jaw to the piercing blue eyes - he could easily be any woman's dream man.

"Your past is my power..." Alexander said, his voice seeming louder than it should with an unknown tone underlaying it, "Who was he, Tigress? The man who taught you to fight? The man who changed your life? The man who made you what you are? The man whom you shared something close to love if not the feeling itself?"

The card shaped portal behind the knight died down to reveal the Knight of Swords before it shifted back to its position in the spread though it remained showing.

OOC: You did mention the boxes, just wasn't sure how your character drew them out. :monster:

The axe that Degra threw didn't have any effect on the male. It did, however, reveal to her that the male was shielded when employing the cards magic. While undergoing her second transformation, the other human had backed away. She didn't seem too sure as to what to do, but she remained on guard in case of some kind of attack. The male, however, proceeded to activate the magic of the cards he drew out. Degra stood on guard herself, also anticipating some sort of attack. However, the cards flared up with some visible energy, manifesting into a portal out of which stepped a man garbed in leather armour and armed with a sword. He actually reminded Degra of the Knights told of in some of the campfire stories she had heard. The pretty ones, who slay dragons and save princesses. In other circumstances, she may have found this rather amusing.

The man then spoke aloud. It was unusual, as it sounded almost like there was someone else speaking in synchronisation with him. Whatever magic had been employed here seemed to have a resound effect on the human male. "Your past is my power..." said the man. "Who was he, Tigress? The man who taught you to fight? The man who changed your life? The man who made you what you are? The man whom you shared something close to love if not the feeling itself?"

Was this man refering to her mentor? Degra wondered why he was questioning her past. It had nothing to do with any of this. "Whatever you think you know about my past, pup, is of no concern," she growled. "The past stays in the past, and it will not determine what happens here today."

The portal died down as she spoke, and the man with the sword stood there. Degra wondered if he was a denizen from a world beyond the portal, or if the portal was merely a way of channeling various creations from the magic of the cards. She glanced towards the female, wondering what she would do now that there appeared to be yet another combatant in the vicinity. Degra intended on destroying the lot of them. The man and this 'Knight', for lack of a better word, did not belong here. The female had already made an attempt on her life, so Degra planned on returning the favour.

She gripped her axe tightly, preparing for an attack from any of her opponents. So far it had only been the female who had acted aggressively. Out of the male and the Knight, the Knight seemed to be the more likely one to expect an attack from, as the male seemed much more reserved and reluctant to get directly involved in the fray. But she was prepared nontheless, incase this was some kind of ruse. The last thing she wanted was to lower her guard around him, only to get a knife in the back. Glancing in the direction her other axe had spun off to, she saw smoke rising from the shrub. A fire had ignited, and would spread swiftly should it be left unattended. "Forgive me, Gaia," Degra thought. It would be unfortunate for this wooded area to burn, but it had become tainted.

She eyed her opponents, tensing her body. Now the real battle will begin. She squared herself challengingly, both hands poised ready to attack or defend. It had been a long time, but she remained confident in herself. Not overconfident, but confident enough to eliminate any doubt that may hinder her. Baring her teeth menacingly, she dared any of them to come and attack. She shall meet them with such ferocity. She shall tear them apart and feed their remains to the Anjaba.

The battlefield was silent as Eile eyed everyone on the field. The guy has summoned another fighter. Most likely to defend himself while using more of his magic. The tiger lady in front of her was looking at her. Most likely to pay the same kind of damage Eile did to her back and more. This was fine by her. She was on a mission and she didn't have time to deal with them.

"How to attack without leaving myself open?" Eile thought as she looked on the battlefield.

Eile smiled a second later as she slammed the scythe into the ground. Eile felt a sudden vibe change in the surrounding as if the laws of physic were bending to her will. Soon enough rocks, dead trees, even the very weapons that was out started to rise from where it sat. Eile let her self rise along with her scythe for a few seconds before snapping her fingers. Suddenly, everything that was in the air shot to the ground in an extremely fast speed. Eile slowed herself down by firing a shot toward the wolf lady, using the recoil to lift herself back into the air as she prepared for the decent and her next attack.

(OOC: the skill changed out is energy shield and traded in for Reverse Gravity.)

OOC: Just throwing this out there... How far does this Reverse Gravity effect reach? Also, in your bio it states that it only lifts inanimate objects, so would I be correct in assuming that it wouldn't have a direct effect on any of our characters, but more of an effect in that... Say, weapons or clothing would be pulled upwards?
