This of course has come up many man y times but I want to settle this. I am, myself, an atheist and I find the idea of religion disgusting tbh. It dominates our lives and education and its fed to us from a young age, so we are brainwashed into believeing it. I didn't buy that when I was younger, it only made me hate it more, I even put on my year one end of year report at a catholic school: dislikes-going to mass. I think religion has caused too uch conflict in the world to be worth the effort. The idea of God? As a father? More a controller and something to prevent, you, yourswelf, from making your decisions independently. These are some of my views. There is a poll attached asking whether or not you are religious or agnostic etc. please feel free to post your views here.

Ja, religion should be an obsolete concept that should no longer dominate people's lives. They have the choice not to believe any of that stuff, and because we are aware of things that put religion into question, there's really no reason why you must believe it. In fact, I find it hilarious that the majority of people who call themselves religious are really just following secular principles, and not, as you would have it, the principles that are actually a part of their holy book or religion. The funny thing is, they won't admit it. For one reason or another. Either they're not aware that they're following secular principles, they really believe that's what their religion is all about, or they're just conforming to social norms.

I just found out recently what the D.G. Regina Elizabeth II means on our coin. In previous versions of it, the abbreviation was not there, and they wrote the phrase in full, which is "Dei gratis Regina Elizabeth II", Latin for "Queen Elizabeth II thanks god." Cryptic and subtle, but there it is, nonetheless. Well, I guess I still prefer that over "In God we trust" because then the Canadian one only says Queen Elizabeth believes in god, but says nothing about what any Canadian citizen might believe in.

I dont particularly believe in "religion" but I dont discount it either.I dont think one religion is correct or another not. I do believe in something,of wich I dont put a name to because I realy cant define to well what exactly I believe, everything and nothing I guess.
I think religion is more of a means of being at peace when one dies so one goes in a mental frame one can cope with better and to live their lives by a means thet at the end will result in a pleasent place at the end....or not so pleasent depending on what one believes.
Humans way of not being afraid to die in my mind.
I just think since humans are fallible some take religion to far and some not far enough....Since human creation there has been myths in regard to all religion so I find it stupid to think thet nothing is there I also find it hard to belive because some old men wanted to keep their families in line centuries ago I should believe in a book 100%.
This probably made absolutely no sence....but it was my attempt blah
Ah
