Mordax Praetorian
ShinRa Guard
Greetings All
I'm organising a tournament for the US Version of Dissidia over Ad-Hoc Party
Ad-Hoc party is a download for your PS3 for allows PSP games such as Dissidia to be played over the internet
I don't know the specifics because I don't have a PS3 (why I'm not playing myself) however, a quick Google Search should yield instructions
We're looking both for players and for referees, so please send your sign ups to either to the E-Mail below
Full rules document follows:
------------------
Sign Ups:-
Accepted by E-Mail to Mordax.Dissidia@GoogleMail.com before September 21st only
Largest bracket that can be made with available sign ups at that point
First Come First Serve
With Sign Up:
Desired name for Tournament
Other Names Known By
Character of Choice
Dates Unavailable until November
PSN Identity
MSN/Windows Live Messenger Identity
Brackets:-
Each player will be assigned and sent a number upon receipt of a complete sign up
When sign ups close, another referee who does not know to which players each number referes to will create and post a bracket at a pre-determined location with the numbers in
Mordax will then fill the names into the bracket
Matches:-
Best of 3 until Semis
Semis and Finals best of 5
Single Elimination
Playoffs to be held if possible
First arena per match is Random
Arena in subsequent games picked by loser of game before, and may be gimmiked or non-gimmiked
No Arena may be used twice in the same match, for example if the gimmiked version of a stage appears as the random stage, then neither its normal or gimmiked version may be picked later
Replays of all matches must be saved, and raw data sent to the assigned referee
Players must stick to the character they picked at sign up, however may equip any moves or abilities for any game
Chaos and Cosmos rules must be switched off, and Menu Battle may not be used
Matches should be played over Ad-Hock Party
Timing:-
Each match where a player could go on to win, will be assigned a referee in the closest time zone to fit the players
The players should decide when their match should happen
The Referee should attend the match time if possible
It is up to the referee to ensure that the match is played before the round deadline
As soon as a player has an opponent for the next round, that match can be played
The match is not finished until the Referee has all replays
Replays:-
A replay of each match should be sent to the assigned referee, or to any referee should one not have been assigned
Replays should be watched first, and when approved, sent to whoever is assigned to post them to You Tube
All referees are encouraged to watch the hidden matches on the account
Matches will be made ready to watch by Mordax, who will then reveal them at the end of the tournament
Disciplinary:-
Players may apply a music hack to their game, but it must otherwise be unmodified
A list of banned combo fragments will be kept on the Dissidia Tournaments You Tube Account Page
The person in charge of the list may update it at any time
Players are advised to check the list before each match
Should a player suspect an opponent or other player of breaking the above rules, they should report it to a referee
If any referee suspects that a player is cheating, they may:
--Demand a Character Setup for any previous match
--Ask other referees for their oppinions
--Warn a player that has used a banned combo
If 3 referees agree that:
--The player has used a banned combo, then a win gained from the game where the combo was used may be taken away
--The player has continued to use banned combos despite warnings, then the player may be disqualified from the tournament
--That a player has deffinitly modified their game in any way other than a music hack, then the player may be disqualified
A referee may not:
--Inform other players that a player is suspected of cheating
Should a round deadline be reached, and a game in that round yet to be played, then the referee responsible for the match may:-
--Grant an extension on the match in the case of exceptional circumstances, such as family death, sudden injury, disease, theft or destruction of hardware
--During The First Round Only, remove one player that has missed 3 or more match appointments, and replace that player with one that is waiting to join the tournament
--After the First Round Only, hand the win to one player if the other is shown to have missed 3 or more match appointments
--In the case that 3 match appointments were not made, and one player showed evidence of attempting to make appointments where the other didnt, then the player that made the effort may have another opponent drafted (first round), or be given the win (later rounds)
--In the case that 3 match appointments were not made, and neither player attempted to make the appointments, discuss with other referees and take any action that 3 referees(including the one assigned to the match) deem most appropriate
Referees should not grant an extension on a round in the case of parental intervention, such as if a player has their PSP taken away, is banned from their PS3, or if their parents physically destroy the hardware as punishment
--If your parents are likely to do this, please save us all the headache of your pathetic troubles and don't enter the tournament
Players are to keep their personal disputes out of the tournament, if you dislike another player and don't want to fight them, then this is tough luck
Character Setups:-
For any game, players may equip any move or ability
Accessories, Equipment and Summons may not be equipped
Rules of Play:-
No player may execute as a part of any combo, any sequence of moves in the banned list on the DissidiaTournaments You Tube page
The list is, unless stated, done from one move to the next, so if it specifies that Cait Sith may not use Trumpet->Bell, then no player link Trumpet into Bell by any means of dodge cancelling, or any other move action or actions in between
This does not mean that if Cait Sith has used Trumpet in a combo, that he may not use Bell later on, Trumpet->Alarm->Bell would still be valid for instance
Other than this, anything goes
