Old Dalan

Lmao, so i was playing FFXII recently, does anybody know what that thing beside Dalan is? Looks like some prehistoric sort of bong... but idk, and if you just sit there and watch him, he keeps putting it in his mouth, and in the talkscenes with him, he even sounds somewhat stoned/high/etc.... so yeah, anybody know what it is?

I imagine it is some sort of pipe. He does cough now and then as well if you notice ;o

Considering the desert climate of Rabanastre/Dalmasca and the bazaar, it gives it a little bit of a Middle Eastern feel, so I'm guessing that it's a hookah, which is a traditional water pipe used for smoking tobacco, molasses, and other herbal fruits.
