Playstation Okami

could people please stop quoting me on the crappy graphics thing. I love the graphics, but I have met idiots out there who don't like the graphics because they haven't got enough intelligence to comprehend them. Like I said, I love them, and am looking forward to Christams, but please stop quoting me on it.

@ VR, tank= really, really good

IM IN UR THREAD QUOTIN UR GRAPHICS!!!11!1

But yeah, sorry, just misunderstood ya. I knew an idiot like that who hated Okami's graphics. Funny thing was, he adored Wind Waker's graphics, which are fairly similar. He bluntly said Okami looked like crap when I showed it to him and I was like ".........what? kthnxbye"

Well okay then, Okami is uber 1337 tankage xD

How many hours would you say of gameplay does it have? and does it get boring and repetitive?

Amazingly enough, it averages around 35 hours, you can bump it up past 40 if you do alot of the sidequests though. You'll have a very hard time getting bored with it.

Okami = supreme awesomeness.

And while I would disagree with people who dislike Okami's graphics it's not that similar to Wind Waker in terms of looks. WW has more of a cel shaded cartoon while Okami seemed to me to look like a kind of water painted look.

Aye, that's true, but they still have a bit of hand-drawn quality to them and aren't normal looking 3D games. And IMO, Okami looks WAAAAY better than Wind Waker. I really don't know how anyone could dislike Okami's graphics...unless maybe they have absolutely no taste in art whatsoever and prefer to spend their days staring at Duchamp's works.

It's an artful, refreshing and original twist to an often played genre so people who dislike it are probably either a) Nintendo fanboys in denial b) Xbox fanboys who wonder where the violence/guns are or c) are complete frigging idiots who just have no taste at all and want nothing but ultra realistic graphics.

Never have better words been spoken.

The entire game is original. Sure, you have normal platforming elements, but the celestial brush is incorporated into the platforming and fighting so well that it gives a much needed breath of fresh air to platforming, adventure games, and even puzzles.

I agree with both of you, the graphics are outstanding, they look very well done, and it must have taken them a very long time to perfect them

I know, they definitely put alot of work into it...sad that Clover Studios is disbanded. Worse yet, all their gaming properties still belong to Capcom...I hope to god if they make an Okami sequel it doesn't get the usual Capcom treatment (i.e. more of the same, no effort).

I love this game. I haven't played it in ages but I was right near the end and just needed to collect everything. Hopefully they'll make a sequel soon....or at least a similar game. I much prefer this than Viewtiful Joe, though I like that one too.

I never really got into the Viewtiful Joe games, I had the first one but I got a tad bored with it.

But like I said...I'm wary of Capcom making an Okami sequel. Clover Studios isn't around to watch over their brainchild now, so it might just turn into a half-assed sequel like so many Mega Man and Street Fighter games... But then again, it could be thrown into the hands of the guys who do Devil May Cry or Onimusha, in which case I'd have hope.

I thought Clover was back again....at least the people, not the company. Heard about Clover Studio being disbanded but thought I heard that most of the people from Clover Studio are now working for Seeds Inc, so a sequel isn't as bad as it sounds.

You know...I totally forgot about Seeds, glad you reminded me though, now I have hope again ^_^

So I was wondering the other day...does getting faith from animals and people and such actually DO anything? Supposedly it increases your strength, but I never notice it doing anything, just upgraded weapons and brush techniques.

I haven't donne that much yet ... just about to go in the cave..had a lot of work and could not playa lot...but been feeding animals and I did not noticed anything major yet

Are you entering that cave part in Hana field, or are you in the Tsuta ruins?

I have well over 1000 faith and so far I haven't noticed it doing anything <.< I dunno, maybe you get something if you get all the faith possible in the game *checks IGN's guide*

Oooh, you get more Karmic Transformers, there's nine in all O_O Now that has me curious just to see what all kinds of forms Ameratsu has, I only have three Karmic Transformers.

*keeps reading*

"During load screens, press X to earn demon fangs. On screens with paw prints along the bottom, tap X in time with the paws that appear (making them larger). Successfully time a press with each paw print and the last one will appear as a demon fang. On blank load screens, mash X rapidly to fill the screen with 50 prints to earn a demon fang."

Now that's a pretty useful trick :monster:

Ah! god i love this game! The graphics were such a nice touch seems its never really done well I heard about this game a few months before it came out and when i got it I beat it within a week of gettin' it, after I beat it i was hoping there would be rumors of a sequel but I was told there wouldnt be >_< I dunno if thats changed?

The Karmic Transformers were a nice touch for when you complete the game i only have 4 so far but I'm completing everything in it so I should get them all soon. Its a pity you cant get ammy's proper form in it

I am in Hana field. I think it is Hana field....haven't been playing for over a week...had a lot of work a little while back...so I think now I am making up for the lost gaming time...so I am like trying to play more then one game at once and it is not really working. lol...

So, besides Okami,... trying to finish FFVIII and that takes damn time.....plus playing Assasin's Creed..and damn the addictive Altair....lol....and I have Silent Hill on a go too....

Interesting.....well I will just keep on feeding the animals then...cos I been doing it anyway......as it does pay off....cool :)

Aye, I was disappointed when I found that out...but still, nice touch ^_^ And if you get all the stray beads, you get invincibility.......which is largely useless, since the game is easy, so I probably won't bother getting all the beads xD

Well Hana field is the one where you follow Susano into the cave and find that massive statue. The other cave early-ish in the game is strictly a cave and introduces the lock demons (which I find completely hilarious, I love how they freak out when they see you with the key) and it's where you fight that giant spider thing.

I just got the game for Christmas, I love it!!!!! It is a beutiful game, but talking scenes get a bit annoying though, but other than that 10/10!
