I bought this game on a whim, and I'm so glad I did. It's the most amazing, addictive, beautiful, wonderful game ever... yes, possibly even more so that my beloved FFVII. I love it all - the gameplay, the graphics, the brush, the music (especially Orca's Theme, Reset, and the stuff that plays at Ryoshima Coast), the characters, the story - and just about everything else, except Yoshpet. I hate timed challenges, I want to be able to look around at my own pace. Anyhow, all in all, Okami is a fantastic game. Who else has played it? What did you think?

I have it I'm just at the
cave in the water where you had the Sake girl on your back
and you are right it is a wonderfull game
but ist not a sails hit so its a Cult game hell yeah
I don't like the that wanabe hero person with his wooden sword he is so
lazy you do all the work and he thinks he has da power
the graphic's are really good and the lines are well writhen
snowy

if nintendo is smart the should have it on wii

Yes I got this game too and i love it, so different and original, and the cast of characters are fun and unique, a masterpiece and the musical score is fantastic.

If you have a Ps2 and dont have this game, it's a definate must-have.

I bought it, but have to wait until I finish FFXII to start playing it. But I've heard so many good things about it I am looking forward to it a lot. It looks gorgeous too.

Saw a bit of it when Aztec bought it and played through it, but it really doesnt strike my interests all that much. The voices acting and sound effects were pretty creepy though...

Great game but mis understood by most people i bet coz the graphics don't appeal to most much like zelda the wind waker shame it's so refreshing to play a new style of game 1nce in a while.

This is a game I've been meaning to get. I have heard nothing but positive reaction from both critics and players. I really need to play this game.

My favourite bit is when you cleanse a place of evil. All the pinks and greens, and the music is cool too i think. Its kind of sad though with the things that happen, I won't spoil it if people haven't played it. I always thought i had nearly completed it after each boss but was suprised how long a game it can be :)

Is this any good, I've seen videos of it, and it looks tank! I'm hoping to get it for christmas, please give feed back on the game, exepct about graphics, I don't want anyone saying, 'it has crappy graphics', well, that game is supposed to, to give the allusion of it's history.

Crappy graphics? I can accept someone not preferring the style, but the graphics certainly aren't crappy.

The game is pretty awesome. I haven't experienced everything the game has to offer, but from what I've seen, it's well worth the time.

I am playing Okami right now....and it is absolutelly beautiful game...visually stunning definitelly, but very fun to play....plus the story so far is really good :)

so go for it, it is worth it....plus it did not won quite a few BAFTAS this year for nothing :D

Yeah, i've downloaded videos and trailers, it looks absolutely awsome, the gameplay, story, graphics, everything. I'm looking foward to christmas

The only thing for me so far that it took me a bit to get used to was the painting part, using the brush, especialy when you fight, ..but then you do not need to be 100% precice with it so it is fine after you have done it few times.

No idea what that means, I assume it means "made of absolute win and god", in which case yes it is tank.

It's supposed to? o_O No...um, they're calligraphy style. It's probably the most gorgeous and artful game on the PS2, and definitely one of the best too. Seriously, everyone who has a PS2 owes it to themselves to get this game. The story is good, the gameplay is actually unique (a bit of a rarity in games these days), the entire game is a visual orgasm, and um...yeah it's pretty much one of the best games to ever hit the system. Basically, this awesomeness:

Is what you will see in-game. Quite lovely. It should be fairly cheap now too. Just to give you another example of how win this game is, several months ago, after beating it I loaned it to a friend in exchange for his copy of Metal Gear Solid 3 (which is also pure win). Well, few weeks later, I was wanting to start a new file...and he wasn't playing the game, but he wasn't giving it back either...so I went out and bought it again. It was still $40. So yeah, it's that good (heh...I still have his copy of MGS3 too, not giving it back).

I played it briefly and thought it wasn't quite worth the hype, but then again that's probably just because I'm a moron and couldn't figure out some simple puzzles with the brush strokes.>_<

I do, however, really like the artistic presentation of the game. If there's one thing that would perhaps entice me to play further it would be that, or I could just buy an artbook...

Well it does take some getting used to on the PS2 controller, it'll be alot easier to manipulate the brush once the game is on the Wii (and I plan to buy it for the Wii too...once I get a Wii that is). As for the puzzles, well....all of them are easy for me except for those blockfaces or whatever they're called. I utterly despise those things >_< I have a hard enough time remembering where the dots were, but it doesn't help that the camera angle shifts slightly after you're shown the dots.

Do you still have the game? If so I could help (unless it's blockfaces) and IGN has a really good guide too.

Actually since both threads are so small, instead of closing one I'll just merge the topics ^_^

Why thank ye :monster:

So has anyone here played Okami and actually beaten it? Seems like most people here are seriously deprived of this game.
