I've played this game a hundred times and it's only now coming to light how many gaps are in the story.

1) Ellone frequently sends your party back in time to see Laguna's world. Why? According to her at the Lunar Base, "I wanted to change the past but just seeing it through your eyes was enough, I saw how much I was loved" - what the hell? Why does it have to be your group at all?

2) Ultimecia managed to send her consciousness in to the past (our present) and possess Edea. Why could she only come to our time? If she already had some sort of power to manipulate time I'm pretty sure she didn't need Ellone, particularly when Ellone has NO ability to DO anything in her time trips, she just watches...whereas Ultimecia can declare international war. Why can't she go further back again and possess Adel during the Sorceress War?

3) It looks like Ward never met Ellone. How are we able to see him? Or even Kiros before the Winhill dream sequence?

EDIT

4) Why does SorcerESS Adel have nae tits but massive biceps?

1] One can assume that Ellone knows the connection between Squall and Laguna. That would make for a tie between the two. As for who is experiencing Kiros and Ward at the time, it's just a matter of who happens to be with Squall at the time.

2] It could easily be that Junction Machine Ellone has a limit on just how back into the past it can travel. However I think it has more to do with Time Compression itself. If I remember correctly, Time Compression is the amalgamation of past, present and future. To do that Ultimecia would have to be in all three at the same time. She exists in the future and using Junction Machine Ellone she can exist in the past, however that only accounts for two points. By using Ellone's power in the present of the FFVIII timeline and going to the past, she exists in all three and thus Time Compression can be achieved. As for possessing Adel during the Sorceress Wars, doing so would corrupt the timeline creating a divergence wherein it is possible that Ultimecia not exist, in the current form or at all. Time Compression, being passt present and future would ensure her survival.

3] The memory sequences seem to be focused around Laguna whose closest companions are Ward and Kiros. Naturally a connection exists and Ellone can graft another mind in there just as easily for another perspective.

4] Adel is a trap.

1. It has to be someone she's met, and she knew Squall really well, as well as the rest of the orphanage crew, plus it makes sense as she knows who Laguna is to Squall, even if he wasnt aware of it himself

2. Im pretty sure it was mentioned that the machine couldnt take her any further back, that was the limit, and she wanted Ellone as well I think, what with the machine being named after her

3. She met them both in Esthar when she was a kid didnt she, even if it was brief I'm guessing it was enough - she was able to send Squall back to Rinoas past, even though she'd only met her while unconcious at that point. I assume she would have spent a bit more time with Kiros and ward after being rescued from Esthar

4. She's just really butch, have you seen body builder women? :mokken:
