Nomura Interview: What You Should Know About Noctis

Famitsu.com has interviewed Final Fantasy Versus XIII director Tetsuya Nomura about all the projects he's involved and we have some specific details about Versus' main character. A couple of days ago we received information that the Prince was named Noctis. This has been confirmed by Nomura but apparently they will rarely be using this name in the game. They will be using his nickname "Noct" throughout the game.

Noct isn't an unsociable person but he is shy.
He usually smiles except for the party scene where he meets Stella. He tries to hide his shyness by acting in a calm, confident manner.
It's difficult to define his character. It's hard to tell what's really going on inside.

I couldn't find the thread about their unveiled names, so I'll just post this here.

I can already tell that there'll be some form of relationship between Noctis and Stella, based on two things - Noct's character changes dramatically when around Stella and, secondly, Noctis means "of the night" and Stella means "star"; together, star of the night. There'll be a kind of "he can't work well without her" story erupting soon enough.

Shy but trying to be confident, huh? Interesting. I'd really like to know more about his character, as well as Stella's. Hopefully their personality and characteristics will be thoroughly developed. And I love party scenes. xD

As long as Stella and other party members aren't trying to change Noct, then I'm all for it; I get that character change is a usual archetype in RPG stories, but I don't like it when it's hurried and based off of what other people tell the character

Okay, I suppose there's more evidence that Noct and Stella are gonna be a pairing, I just hope that it develops well and doesn't come together 'cause Stella needs to be saved (although looking at some pics of her, she looks like a tough gal ^^)

Noct seems like a pretty cool character so far, as does Stella. As Horatio pointed out, a romance between the two of them seems quite possible. The whole name thing definately isn't new, seeing as how Tidus meant "the sun" and Yuna meant "night". Yup, that's definately a big hint xD
Seems to me that this is going to be a very interesting game.
