Multiple Platforms NIER

Topic revival! :awesome:

I'd recommend getting the DLC - it's quite challenging if you do it on a low level and a high difficulty setting, plus you get some nice weapons and alternate costumes out of it. It doesn't really contribute to the story, though. But you get to play as the younger Nier in it! Oh, and you can turn laser balls into Emil heads, which just looks plain ridiculous when you're up against bosses that fire hundreds of the things. xD

I bought the remixed OST...it's just a shame that it's only 15 tracks. I could listen to the cappella version of The Wretched Automatons for hours, though...the Blu-Bird remix makes it sound even more epic, as well. Plus Shadowlord Music Box version brings back memories of the second ending...:sad2:

I guess it wouldn't hurt to get the DLC after-all. Now to by a PSN card...

The Wretched Automatons was my fave track from the original soundtrack, and I love the vocal-only version too. Really haunting and beautiful. I feel like it could apply to all the characters in the game, and not just those brothers.

Oh yeah, so looks like S-E isn't done with NieR just yet. I was checking out andriasang and there was a post about developers thoughts on 2010 and 2011.

Yasuke Saito who worked on NieR said "that a number of things related to NieR are in progress. Also (and it's not clear if this has anything to do with NieR) Saito said there could be a big announcement next year. Regarding this, there are many things that he'd like to say but can't.

Taken from here

Admittedly, I haven't played the game fully, but were there any loose strings left in the game plot maybe..? O.O

Didn't the small group responsible for NieR disband last year, though? If Square Enix are going to take it to hand themselves I will go absolutely mental, they'll ruin it...

As for loose ends in the story...if you read Grimoire NieR (it's summarized on the NieR wikia) then there aren't any at all...compared to the original version, the version we got is horrendously incomplete (exactly like Drakengard, now that I think of it...) but it does have a full backstory with pretty much everything explained, even if half of the stuff isn't present in the game.

They could possibly
make a prequel to it which explained how the Grimoires were made, and how the world declined after the Grotesquerie Queen invaded.
. Or, if we're going to assume the fourth ending is canon, then they could do something with that. It'd be nicer to see a prequel, in my opinion ♥
