Don't we have enough RPGs coming out in the first half of 2010?! We role-playing fans are going to have to request 36-hour days from the government, or something.
We've just learned that Square-Enix's more adult-themed action/RPG, Nier, is scheduled to arrive in North America for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this Spring. That could mean as early as late March or early April, or as late as early June.
In all honesty, as much as we want to get our hands on this one, we'd almost prefer later rather than sooner, what with White Knight Chronicles hitting in February and Final Fantasy XIII launching in March.
We never considered Nier was quite this close; if anything, we would've guessed at a Spring 2010 release for Japan, but not for the US. Now we're wondering if we might be looking at a worldwide simultaneous release for this one, but either way, we'll have to start paying very close attention to what appears to be a unique and entertaining adventure.
Oh, and we definitely want a playable demo on the PSN at some point within the next few months; we didn't get one in this region for FFXIII (at least, not yet) and that sucks. Give us a little look-see ahead of time, Square-Enix!
Stay tuned for more concerning Nier; we'll be scrounging about for more details and info as time rolls on.
