Hi all, I'm a newbie with FF8. it's so fantastic!!!! But i find it's a little bit difficult in the following:
- How to use M-stone/some items... i received from the battle
- How to play cards. I'm so stupid about it, don't know the rules :( Please explain the card rules as detail for me :) . Do i need to play card game? What is the benefit i earn from playing?
- How about the magics? Please show me the list of magic and locations that i can draw.
- Is there any secret in junction with GF?
Thanks so much in advance

Okay first off thats way too much info for a single post.

The M-Stone Piece and others. I typically divide the items into several groups.
Restoratives- potions, phoenix downs, elixers and the like.
Refinery- items that can be refined into better items or into magic. The M-stone piece is one of these. You will need the GF's RF abilities to do this though.
Blue Magic- Some items will let quistis learn new blue magic for her limit break hese will say so on the item description. Your first natural one will be the spider web from caterchipillers. Youc an get several more by modding cards.
Ammo- These are for another characters limit break, Irvine's shot to be precise. Dont worry about them until you get him.
Compatability boost items- These are items that raise the compatability between GFs and their summoners. The higher the compatability the faster the summon. These items will include dynamo stones, bomb fragments, silence powder, poison powder and many others.

Keep in mind that some of these categories will interlace.

Cards:

The higher up rules can be rather difficult to explain but at this stage you just have the open rule. This means that you can see each other's hands. Card games are won when after all nine spaces on the board are full. The palyer with the most cards wins. You get the cards by flipping them over. To do this you must either use a rule or beat it by number. Higher number wins. I would advise waiting until you have the Ifrit card before you begin. Don't worry getting it is part of the storyline.

Another thinig you must abolish the random rule anytime it pops up. It sucks. Playing the games results in two battle meter upgrades and rare cards that if you mod them will give awesome items. In fact modding cards is an excellent way to build up your magic reserves in the early game. If you need a list of where to get rare cards i can gice it to you if you dont want to miss them.

Magics:

You dont need a list of magics. Not knowing is half the fun. But if you dont have the magic yet and you try to draw if will appear as ???? on their draw menu. There will be somethings that you have no idea what they are but you can read them. These are GFs, draw them. The first one like this is Elvoret with Siren.

Another tip: A great way to start out is to draw esuna from Biggs and double from elvoret. They both junction very well, especially double to strength at this point. Draw points are mostly obvious but still check for hidden ones. Near the end of the game there are two island chock full of hidden ones on the world map with rare magics so go check it out but be careful, the mosters there are difficult.

GFs:

Theres really only two secrets to GFs. Some you will have to draw from enemies and then some you will have to find/work for. As for junctioning you ned to have the GF no whichever ??-J ability you want to junction to. Like both Ifrit and Quezacoatl have the HP-J ability availible. This will let you junction magic to your HP and raise it. Same for other abilities.

Anything else just let me know.

Wow a nube! lets bash'em!!!....lol
Nah just kidding............Its imperative you dont play cards in Dollet it has the random rule and you could easily lose your best cards, other places have the random rule so if you get stuck with it, once you have the ability to move across the ocean, there's a guy in balamb near the docks who plays with no rules and gets rid of the rules you are carrying leaving you free to play cards.

Note: you can still have rules on you when you play cards again so just go back and he will get rid of them again!

Junctioning is best done with 100 spells in stock(magic menu) Like Gav said cards is the best way to get the better magic earlier. To do this you will need to have Quertzactl learn the Card Mod ability to turn your cards into items:WARNING: dont mod GF or Player cards.....yet!

There are some Side Quests that require these cards so be careful DEEBEE.

Regarding Junctioning again, Obviously the lower spells only yield small stat boosts, and elemental spells dont yield the best boosts your best bet is non-elemental spells:Ultima,Flare, Meteor, these are hard to unlock but just wait.Healing magic is the best when it comes to HP, just watch out you dont use the SPELL you have on your HP in Battle.

Be more specific when you wanna know something bacause Fuckers will prattle on about all they here....Are worried about spoilers??
