New to this Forum and new to this game cult!

hello everyone, this is my first time on this forum. eversince final fantasy xiii came out i fell inlove with this game. i dont know if this is the right place to post it but i tried it on yahoo and i didnt get to much answer so i decide to come to a real final fantasy forum where i can get my questions answered. well aboue couple months ago i went to this yard sale with a whole bunch of uselss junk, but i found in this old box with a pile of brand new final fantasy games in a thick plastic case with barcode and numbers on them labeling VGA. since i got into FFXIII, i decided that this would be good for me to catch up with the old FF series. But anyway the old guy (late 50s) he wanted 500 dollars for them! i was like "why is it so expensive when everything else is only couple of dollars?!" he said somthing like "my son he use to collect these games and he went off to college and never came back to got em, so its junk i need to get rid off." so im like ok, i guess i will buy em so i can open them up and play them one by one. come to find out i dont know if i get ripped or did i make a right move? and how the hell do i get these thick plastic off so i can play them. so im here to ask you guys what you think. 500 is alot of money for about a collection of games. well the games are all brand new sealed in acrylic plastic case, these are the games: FF Origins, FF Anthology, FF Chronicles, FFVII, FFVIII, FFIX, FFX, FFX-2, FFXII and FF Tactics. please tell me i did the right thing and not the wrong thing and spend so much money on these games :cry:, and if anyone can tell me how i can take off these plastic case will be great! THX!
 
Wow. you could of went and bought all those games for like $90. i dont know what your talking about with this super think plastic but you got seriously ripped off in my eyes. Anyways Welcome to the Forums. :pikamon:
 
thx for being honest. i didnt know if it was going to be any value or not. i knew it was very popular amongst gamers so i guess i would take a risk on buying it. oh well :( i guess im stuck with it, i guess i will open them up one at a time and play them

yeah if you're seriously lucky.... sounds like you were over charged mind, but $90 is abit optimistic if you ask me, so don't feel too bad. Though... Black label or platinum versions? I'd be sorely dissapointed if you got platinum (greatest hits, whatever you folk call them) for that price, I'd be expecting them to be in perfect condition as well. If you wanna see how much you could have got the shit for, just have a look on ebay, see what it's all retailing at individual like

Also, welcome to the forums, hope you enjoy playing through the games :monster:
 
yes they are all black label and their conditions are mint. they are sealed in a case graded by video game authority and they are graded from 75 to 85.
 
You lost me after sealed hahaha, well I wouldn't feel too bad about paying that much, you clearly had the cash and they are in great condition :dave:

I accidentally superglued my FFIX shut, can't get into that either

You do know the battle systems are nothing like XIII though right? :8F:
 
no i havent touched any other final fantasy series beside the XIII. i just recently searched a forum recently and found out that last month they had a FFVII black label new sealed won for 710 DOLLARS on a bid! whoa! i didnt know FFvii was that much money! i got a sealed vga one with a 85 grading. i dont know if that grade is good or not
 
ive no idea what the grades are, over here, you can pick it up pretty cheap, I occassionally have to buy a new copy when mine die and can grab a black label one for about a tenner if you are lucky, they just seem to be astronimical in price over in the states

Hope you enjoy your purchases as much as I've enjoyed mine :dave: (when I say that, it occurs to me how often I've spent my hours raging at the games, hatin' on them hah)
