Yes, we moderate the RPG, the forum sections dedicated to it, and OCCASIONALLY help out with moderating in other forums. However, some of the posts I have been seeing from RPG mods go completely out of line- it's been a policy as an RPG mod from the beginning that we do NOT try to strut around as global moderators in other boards, yet I have started to see some of us go against this policy on a regular basis. If a poster is bugging you, report the post or post his username in the "Watch List" thread. Hell, if you're going to infract someone, just give them a custom infraction and explain your reasoning there, but please do not make a thread stopping post showing your ability to infract anyone who gets out of line. THAT IS NOT OUR JOB. In fact, I've provided a few examples, just to show you what I mean:

To be fair, this is a reasonable use of a warning that is actually in a thread we moderate:

I have no problem with that. I have no problem with giving the occasional outside infraction. Heck, I've given out 2 infractions since I've joined here. But BOTH of those instances were when I saw an immediate danger to the forum which other moderators would not be able to handle. However, some of the things I have seen some of us do- particularly one of us, I might add- is completely out of line. Do NOT apologize to Rhea for "leaving the whole weight of FFF in your hands". It is RHEA'S job to moderate all of the forums, whether she is the only active global moderator or not. If Darkblade wanted us to act like global moderators, he would have made us global mods, dammit!

I have ignored this obvious violation of our pledge as RPG Directors until now, but it has come to the point where average members have began to hate, and even worse, fear some of us. If I see another outrageous example of pseudomodding on FFF from an RPG Director, I am going to refer the post to Darkblade and consider giving an infraction for it. You have been warned.
 
Yes, I see what you mean. But it is tiring to see all the drama people are causing over the past few weeks and no other mods online to do anything about it.
I may have been harsh in some instances, but when people continually try to pick fights with other members, I feel they need a shot to the head to make it sink in.

I will try to not give out any more infractions unless it is needed and if i do see someone doing something wrong, I will only warn them verbally.
But if they just keep refusing to cooperate and keep escalating the situation, then i will give them a warning.
 
You can warn them verbally through a custom infraction. Then it becomes an issue between you and the infracting member. Heck, do it through a PM if you have to. But what I cannot stand are these public, "wrath of god" type posts. Please keep it private if you are able to!
 
I will try to keep these things private.
That way, they won't go off and take it out on other members XD.

Otherwise, only in a emergency will I post a reply to their post.
 
Actually, any moderator or admin for that matter, should keep public displays down. The point of moderating is to keep the forum clean from spam, flaming and drama. If you see somebody do it, give them a verbal warning, in a PM. At times, a friendly public post is OK, to show an example to other members that the behavior is not appropriate. But it needs to be a friendly or simple post. A moderator must never continue the drama. If the member continues, give them a small infraction or 0 infraction. If it continues, give them a higher infraction. That is how it is done on other forums.

But Adamant, there are times, a member needs a brief suspension. This is not a permanent ban. DB setup the infraction system to allow any mod to suspend a member. But this can only be done with custom warnings. An example, a member is already close to a suspension, your custom infraction will ban them. You do need to give a good reason for doing it.

Yes, since we are forum mods of Inferno Realm, we should concentrate there and leave the other forums to the fmod of the forum or a gmod. Only on rare occasions should we venture out of our area of moderating.
 
I'm upset about the over the top, thread stopping posts where RPG mods threaten to close a thread... while admitting in fine print that they actually can't. Notice how we are RPG Directors, not moderators. We are different from normal staff in that we are normal members who just happen to be able to control a very cool RPG. Heck, I think this difference is the reason none of us have ever been de-modded- we're in a league of our own, you might say.
 
Well, we are forum moderators who also setup a game for people to play. Actually, we are really Dungeon Masters. ;) If anybody, outside of Adamant, is familiar with D&D. The father or mother of all RPGs.
 
Dungeon masters ehh? How about we be called that instead of RPG Directors?
Anybody like that idea?

Adamant, I can see CLEARLY through your post because I am not a retard. If you just wanted to say it I would obviously recomend you to redirect your post to the person from which you used to post this topic. Since you used the word "damned" and "damn it" I will feel free to use the same words in order to correct your post. The post was supposed to be like this: "STL don't fucking Pseudo-mod Damn it!"

If you don't have the guts to tell me in my face that what I was doing was wrong, don't use these inteligent tactics because they don't work on me.


If I pseudo-modded, I apologize but I couldn't just let the whole forum get trashed by some "people" who only used this opportunity in order to do what they want, when they want, and do whatever they want in the forums.

Let me remind you that we are in a critical moment because:
*WE only have two GMods and both of them can't stay 24/7 and there are times in which I AM the only one ONLINE.
*WE only have 1 admin.
*WE only have ONE section Mod active.
*Let me remind you that I was one of the only active mods who was here when the whole "BIG BANG" began, forcing me to do something about the matter.

Now look at the size of the FFF, it's by far too large, Rhea is a human for the love of God and we can't expect her to do everything, for wich I encourage the staff to find a new GMod soon. Both Slasher and Rhea need a back up.

But fine, since you are using your authority as the "leader", then I guess that I must submit, and keep my actions for my own, therefore if I see anything wrong, due to the fact that I might end up pseudo-modding because that's the GMods/Section Mods problems, I'll let them take care of that.

Announcement:

From now on don't expect STL to help in anything NON-Related to the RPG Realm or the RPG Inferno. Since I would obviously end up pseudo-modding, I will limit my actions to the RPG ACP, The RPG Realm and The RPG Inferno.

Next time, if you want to give me an Infraction, do it and don't warn me because, if there's something that I hate, are threats against me.
