Lights here, there, everywhere
All around me they shine
Like walking with mines
Surrounded

Their flourecent glow trances the eye
Wandering kids look and stare in awe
Parents nag them to keep moving
Futile

They run the streets looking for fun
Tearing down the lights
Taking them home
Electricity bills skyrocket

Gambling folks sit and gaze
Money Money Money
Simply a narcotic in it's own right
Ruining sheltered lives one by one

The roads full of pedestrians
Cars unable to be opened
The zombie like people stare for days
Malnutrition sets in

As the numb persons stand along side
They drop like flies
Seems like the kids weren't such bad peopel after all
They stole the evil from the streets

For themselves they sit and dwindle slowly
The cost of few for the many
They don't realize it
But they just saved the city
All for that inspiring light
