Okay, my team is:
RedMage LV.20
Warrior LV.20
Theif LV.20
BlackMage LV.20
Is that good enough?
I kinda struggled with Medusa a bit.

You should be MORE than ready to pwn Salamander. What Magic do you have? Don't have Flame Mail equipped. It'll increase the Salamander's Fire Breathe damage. Wear Ice Armour, it'll reduce the damage.

Use Zeus' Wrath and Antarctic Winds if you can't use magic. Have your Red mage multi-cast Cure/Cura on your team every turn to make sure they are on full health all of the time. Have the warrior attack it all the time, and use Blizzara with your Black Mage.

PS, This might want to go into the Help Booth ;)
(Don't worry, I've made this mistake too :P)

oh man that stinks my team just cant beat him

lvl 19 monk
lvl 19 warrior
lvl19white mage
lvl 19 red mage
my team cant beat him and beat medusa easy

I nailed him with Luneth as a warrior, he had an ice sword i think,
Arc as a black mage, he could use blizzara 5 times, like 1000 damage each
Refia was my white mage, she would cast cure and cura on everybody
And Ingus was my red mage, at this point in the game, a red mage is usefull, as they can use black/white magic aswell as swords, and most other weapons...

And yeah, like Grand_Lethal said, equip the ice armour onto those that are able, and if you're still stuck chuck some Antarctic winds at it.

I actually died the first time i fought him, Ingus was a monk, and Arc could only cast like 3 blizzaras....

Having a white mage or a red mage tends to make battles better with the cure and stuff, I managed to beat the salamander without a warrior though I think I was at lvl 22-23 when going after it

I did this

Thief and Monk went on with damaging
Black Mage used magic
White mage spammed cura

Good

Sounds Like Your Ready To go just Make Sure You Be Lv.23 And Also I Advise You Not To Keep A red Mage, I Have the Stratagy Guide! IM ON the Last BOSS
