So, we all know that some of the FF games had more than one disk. Did you all find that to be better than the current 1 disk games?

Do you feel as if the Multi-Disked games have more...gameplay? Discuss:
 
Yes. I love the multi disc.
Pro's
1. Hold more info (longer game)
2. Feel like when you have to switch discs you have reached a new point. Makes me feel like I have accomplished something.
Con's
1. You break or scratch just one and thats it!!
2. More chances of loosing part of the game.
 
So, you'd want the future games to be Multi-Disked? Maybe?

As for me, I kinda liked having multiple disks but man, if you lost or scratched one, it's all over. Which sucked.

I honestly do not realize that it has more gameplay. I guess it would.
 
Well, I remember scratching my fourth disc. It was quite lame. lol. I had to buy a whole new set.

I guess I do get that accomplished feeling when I get to the next disc. *shrugs*
 
Yus, the multi-disc format was really something and it makes you feel you've accomplished something when the screen pops up and says: Insert Disc <#>

And yeah, most definitely I want to see it in later games. It means the games have more content and therefore more fun. :monster:
 
I would actually like to see that myself. Maybe FFXIII will have multi-disk and we can have some MAJOR gameplay. lol. That'd be nice.
 
I liked having multi discs as well but as previously said, it's not good when one of those discs gets damaged or lost. I bought Final Fantasy VIII several years ago and looked after it but once I got to the third disc with the scene in out of space, the game would mysteriously stop and it never ever worked, it would never go past that point. The disc wasn't scratched, it was brand new. I ended up having to buy the whole game again just because of that. It's all good though because the third disc on that game worked! *Phew*

They do have their advantages and disadvantages but I did like them.
 
OMG! Don't you hate it when your first one is scratched and then you buy your new set and you're nervous that it might mess up again? lol. Classic.

Yeah, I know lol. I was very nervous when I put in the third disc to the new game, I would have died if the same thing happened again. Luckily enough it worked perfectly and I haven't had any troubles with it since. :woot:

That's the only disadvantage about multi disc games! I really like them but they can get damaged and then that's it, you can't play it anymore. You could always get the disc repaired if it is even possible. It's difficult to buy games like VII, VIII and IX nowadays as well which is a bummer. :worried:
 
Yes, I love Multi-Disk games. As stated several times in this thread, It truly does make you feel as if your actually getting somewhere in the game as well as a sense of accomplishment. Not to mention, I like games that are long and complex which obviously most need to be printed on several discs.

To sum it all up, I truly feel like I’m getting my moneys worth.
 
So, I guess we are all hoping for an at least 2 disc game? I would like Versus and the Regular XIII to be 2 disc.
 
I also liked Multi Disc games better because of the simple fact that when you reach the point where you have to change discs, you know that you have completed about 1/4 of the game (thinking about IX) also once, I sat watching the picture where it says "Please change to disc #" to try to figure out part of the plot that was going to be revealled.

However, I do not know if someone said this already, but; multidisc games were only multidisced because they were made on CD-ROMs, which are capable of holding a LOT less information than a DVD-ROM (which games are made on now). So it would be utterly stupid to suddenly start making games on CD. Oh, CD-ROM games does NOT hold more gameplay, it might feel that way but they dont.
 
I don't care either way. I don't have a problem with Multi-disks. I never lost a disk and I keep them clean.

I did like the images that came up when you beat the disk. 'Change to disk #.' I was depressed when I changed to the last disk. "Nooo I'm almost done with the game!!!" I still had another 10 hours to go for leveling, side quests, super hard boss, and the final dungeon.

Gosh, -_- Disk 4 of FFVIII was depressing. It was so lonely and towns were locked.
 
Not really, its harder to keep track of 4 discs, some people have that problem, i try to keep all my FFs in mint condition:P, plus the new FFs are made on a DVD format, which can hold a lot more content than the old ps one's....

Also when i started to play my FF IX again lately, my old ps2 doesn't pick up disc 1-so i had to put in one of the other discs first, then start a new game or continue, then when prompted i would insert the first disc again, then it would work......phew :P

So i guess if it wasn't for the multi discs, i wouldn't be able to play it:O

And yeah, it is kinda rewarding when you're prompted to change discs, it feels that you're making progress...and you're getting further into the game.
 
I do like the multi-discs and I find that it does indeed have longer gameplay. So yes, I do believe that it's slightly better than having a 1 disc game, simply because of the fact that I have a mind-set that I'll be spending more time with that particular game, which is a plus for me. xD
 
I like having all the discs it makes the games feel more complete.. you know like a thick novel to read rather than a skinny one :P
I suppose it's annoying if one gets scratched or lost but I do prefer having more than one disc :)
