Has anyone played this rare game?
I love this game. This game has so many diferent feelings to it. From sad, to fun, to cruel, to just screwed up, (really, this game will mess with your head sometimes.)
I'm not just talking a little sad. This game can get more sad then
the ending of FFX and Crisis Core.
It's also surprising to, near the end of the game.
The plot is undiscribable sometimes. I would sit here for hours trying to explain it all. The characters are all uniqe, like Kumatora, the princess on Osohe Castle who can use PSI, to Duster, a kind theif with a leg handicap. The main character is usually (the game occasionally switches main characters, but stops switching at Chapter 4) a young boy named Lucas, starting the game around 10 years old, I think.
This game isn't all sad and everything though. A lot of times, it can be quite funny. Such as when you defeat a boss known as the Barrier Trio, after you deliver the finishing blow, it will say;
With the last of their strength, the Barrier Trio formed a final Barrier Pose.
*long dramatic pause*
It was spectacular.
As you can see, many parts of this game are bright and cheery, while some are dark and ominous.
Mother 3 has amazing music. Once you hear it, you can neverr get the Pigmask Theme out of your head. Also, the final boss music is so freaking screwed up it could give you nightmares. I mean, the sound of your own heartbeat, followed by a strange blowing sound, to a single note over and over, the creepiest part for me is when it plays Lucas' attack sound over and over at increasing speed. It might even be scarier than the Mother 2 final boss music.
And then the MOTHER 3 Love theme. A personal favorite.
F-F-Fire!, another personal favorite.
Heck, every song is my favorite.
If I had to rate the game out of 10...
11 out of 10.

I'm a huge fan of the Mother series, and this one certainly delivered. Mother 3 has the expected quirkiness, silliness, and great story that should be expected from the franchise. The plot of the story was noticeably darker than Earthbound, but I think those more emotional parts of the games are where they truly shine and make you say "Man, this game is pretty great."

Thought I'd add more, as I just finished the game.
Mother 3 is the saddest game ever.
I got tears in my eyes at the end of FFX.
I went into a 1-day state of depression at the end of Crisis Core.
I bawled my eyes out like a baby at the end of Mother 3.
Think about it. A kid around 13 (3 years pass between Chapters 3 and 4) has to go through all this crap...he...
**SPOILERS!! DO NOT FREAKING READ IF YOU HAVEN'T FINISHED THE GAME!!!! PLEASE!! I'M BEGGING YOU! IT'LL RUIN THE GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!**
SPOILERS BELOW.

...had his family torn apart. His mother risked her life for him, and ended up dieing. His brother went missing for three years, and then Lucas finally reunites with him, only for him to die. He is handed the fate of the world, to awaken the Dark Dragon.
SPOILERS END HERE.

The music in Mother 3 is awesome. The Pigmask theme gets etched into your head forever when you hear it.
The music during the final battle is horrifying. Maybe worse than the Final Boss music of Earthbound. It starts with the sound of your own heartbeat, followed by a strange blowing sound. Then, one key on a piano over and over, the sound it makes when Lucas attacks playing over and over, the speed increasing, and many unexplainable sounds.
MOTHER 3 Love Theme, a personal favorite.
F-F-Fire!!!, another favorite.
Mother 3 changes you forever. There is NO game out there like it. In the end, you get the feelings of rage, sadness, joy, dissapointment, hatered, and hapiness all at once. It's an undiscribable experience.

The moral of the game: Nothing lasts forever. But even though nothing lasts forever, you will be reunited with it in the end.
Another moral I found that the game elaborates on:
Taken roughly out of game: Nobody in simply born strong. They become strong by facing their deepest darkest fears. And they don't become strong for themselves, but for others. They help those who can't help themselves. You have grown strong Lucas. Can you feel it? Even now, in your smile, you can see the reflection of the once-pampered crybaby that was you long ago. You've come a long way, Lucas. So go! Help those who need help! You have the power to change everything. Can you hear them?
They say, "Thank you, Lucas."
Also, on Tanetane island, I thought it was pretty cool that when Lucas gets all jacked up on mushrooms, (XD) everything turns into his "Supposably" deepest, darkest fears.
Like when the hallucination of Claus says, "Everyone's waiting Lucas. Waiting to throw rocks at you, spit on you, and make your life hell."
Or Flint, Lucas' father. "I'm gonna beat you. I'm gonna beat you, boy."
Creepy.
This game is pretty funny though.
It has a cartoony feel.
I just like the creepiest parts. :P
And for pity of Lucas,
DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOU PIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASKS!!!
^_^
