:read: For my question, I will be referring to this section in the Site Rules:

Do not spam unless you are in the spamming section please. We like to see posts that are bigger than just a couple of words or small sentences. A good example of spam would be: Spam 1: Yeah, I agree too. Spam 2: I really like the outfit Tifa wears. Those are prime examples of spam. If you insist on posting, please put effort into your posts and make it longer than just one sentence. If you do not, a moderator will edit your post with a Mod Note, letting you know to put more effort into your posting. Spamming also includes double posting. This is just effort to get your post count up. Do not do this. Failure to do so, will result in post deletion and/or an infraction for spamming.
I know that I've seen places where there are posts that need more effort put into them, and a MOD has edited their post. However, does a notification get emailed, or is there a private message sent about it? I'm wondering that if I have a plethora of posts, and don't always check back, how will I know that a MOD has edited my post? Granted, I usually try not to put in one-liners, but for future reference, does a notification get sent out to the person about which post they need to embellish? :computer:

Thank you,
~Kaibi

To answer your question directly, I do not believe a notification is automatically sent to someone who receives a "mod edit." The staff member who performs the edit may or may not send a notification. Personally, I'd send a private message to a new member who is spamming and may not know the rules, or to someone who is blatantly spamming time and time again. If it's an isolated occurrence, then I'd probably just leave an edit for the time being. You seem to have read the rules, so I bet you're safe, ma'am. =]

Most all moderators that have made me aware of spam issues have informed me that they've sent a friendly PM reminder. Also if I'm not mistaken, if a person's post is edited an e-mail should automatically be sent out. If not, the person probably doesn't have their automatic e-mail notification set up in their profiles.

Very welcome. ^_^ Now that your question is answered, I'm going to close this thread. If you'd like it reopened for any reason, feel free to PM me and I'll reopen it.
