So, there is this guild in a MMO that I play. I won't mention the name of the guild, or the MMO for obvious reasons. The guild is full of... Carebears. Meaning that they all "care" and they never argue because apparently, arguing is bad, no matter what it is about.
I could go on for hours about how idiotic most of them are, but I'll refrain from doing so.
One day, a person in this guild was talking to another person in this guild about bugs in the game. We will call them 'A' and 'B'.
A: This game has a few bugs they need to fix.
B: What is a bug.
A: A bug is when you see a something go through something. (Like on FFX when you see Valfore's tail go through the ground when he moves.)
Now at this point you can tell that person A knows what he's talking about, but he's wrong. It's not a bug, not in the slightest. Enter 'C'. Person 'C' tells them what a bug is, but person 'A' isn't buying it.
They start having a debate, a friendly debate, no name calling, just a debate with two opposing views in conflict.
Enter person 'D'. "D" stands for dumb in this case.
D: You guys need to stop fighting now.
Person 'D' is a chair-head of the guild. (Next in line below guild leader.) This particular person pretty much established the "Carebear propaganda" that has dominated this guild.
Now, to make this post a little shorter, she (person 'D') gets pissed and starts to flame and attack everyone involved. She has to "put us in out place". This happened after I corrected her and made her look like an idiot in front of everyone there.
Was I wrong? Should person 'D' have come in and stopped them? If so, why?
Why the guild leader puts up with her, I have no idea. All person 'D' does, along with a person 'E' ('D' and 'E' sort of tag team on poor guild leader) is whine and complain and shadow her everywhere. They treat the guild leader like crap.
However, she still refuses to do anything about it. Because if she does what she wants, or kicks them out, more than half of the guild will leave (yes, our guild is full of morons). Which will knock the guilds place down significantly.
What should they do? I'd really like to get some different opinions in here.
